Challenge for lurkers

I used the DISboards to prepare for my April 2009 trip, which was my first to Disney in over 20 years. On the site, I found links to graphics I could use to make my own autograph books for my children.

As I prepare for our trip in November 2010, I joined. I listened to the DIS Unplugged Christmas in July series to learn more about MVMCP and Osbourne Holiday Lights. Now, I am catching up with episodes from August, and hope to be up-to-date soon.

I'm so glad to know that there are others like myself. I've been trying to post more, but find myself reading soooooo many that I rarely have time to post. I've been using this site for 10+ yrs to plan trips as wellas listening to the podcast. DS doing the college program and follow that thread frequently. I will continue to read & follow my threads. I can't make any promises but I'll try to post more..............thanks guys!

Hi Everyone. I used to be a semi-active poster on the weddings board for a couple of years while I planned our disney wedding. After that I became more of a lurker, especially after our baby arrived at the end of last year! After next Tuesday I won't be working anymore (getting laid off but really excited to get to stay home with the little guy for a while longer!) so maybe I'll find time to post during nap time

My ultimate goal is to get DH to agree to a Podcast trip one of these years... he's finally started reading the boards, so maybe someday! Oh, I'm also going to apply for the disney mom's panel this year - wish me luck!

I started listening for my October 2009 trip last year and have now gone back and listened to all shows from the beginning. I occassionally look at the forums, but don't post. I am almost caught up with the podcast shows, so will now take the next big step and start posting. Baby steps for me!

I'm headed to WDW this December for our 4th trip in a row. Every year my husband has said we'll have to skip a year or two, but somehow we manage to make it back. Here's keeping my fingers crossed...

Hi Everyone
I too am more of a lurker than a poster, it is really intimidating! I just started listening to the podcasts while I'm at work (desk job) and it really helps me get through my day! Thanks to Pete and the gang for a great show.
I also tried to do a DIS meet on a Magic cruise last summer but aside from exchanging lanyards, no one was really into a "meet". It seemed the group already had their own clique. I was so disappointed. Oh well, we enjoyed ourselves on our cruise anyway.

Hello Podcast Team!

I started reading the boards in 2008, but only recently began listening to the Podcasts. I had no idea what I was missing! Your podcasts are not only enjoyable, but they keep my company while I am commuting an hour each way to work and back home again.

My husband is also very grateful for all of you! Why? Because I get all of my Disney "chatter" over with during the drive and I don't have to bore him with it!

I post pretty infrequently so I am much closer to the definition of a lurker than not one.

I love listening to the podcast because I can live vicariously through everyones stories when I can't go down to Disney.

I like the entertainment value of everyone bantering on the show. I found the podcast and started the podcast right before Bob passed, so I went back and listened to them all mostly to get to know him... well to try and get a sense of why he was so special.

Love the restaurant reviews. I sent an audio clip that Pete used once, so Julie sent me a coffee mug which was a huge thrill. We are leaving for a week down there and am staying at Dreams Villas mostly cause I heard about them on the Podcast. So I guess technically I now have John's autograph, because it is on our rental agreement! I am guessing there may have been a cheaper way to go about that.

I LOVE ----LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, that the podcast is politics free. Not that I specifically agree or disagree with anybody. It is just Disney for me is an escape from reality, and politics remind me to much of what I am trying to escape from. So thank you Pete for that.

I lurk A LOT more than I post, but I am trying to do better, and thought this would be a great place to celebrate my 100th post!
(I also thought I'd do the neighborly thing and help get Scotte off the hook by adding another post behind him!)

I love spending time reading these boards, listening to the podcasts and yes, I've even peeked in on chat (I'm trying!). My daughters hang out on the teen boards and we really do feel like we have found a group of friends here...whether you all know it or not!

Dear Stroller Boy...I am a recent de-lurkified podcast and boards fan who is catching up on the podcast archives. I was just grocery shopping listening to a random episode from 2008 and heard the origin of your "Stroller boy" moniker! It was hilarious and I laughed out loud, right in front of the mayo section. teehe! Loved it!
