The Characters(yes, we are all real characters. Just ask the rest of the family)
Tausha (GrowinupDisney) my DSD, will be known as TGB or Tour Guide Barbie. This is an inside joke.
Chris, my DSIL will continue to be Panda.
Julie, my DW, will be known as Nala, because according to her, she is most like Nala.
Me. I will always be me. What else could I be but what I am? A Dude.
The next morning dawns and we are on our way to MGM again. This time we rode the bus with lots of skin-to-skin contact. Full bus this morning. We arrive at MGM in good order and proceed to the main gate. This is a much shorter walk this time due to the fact we skipped the tram and actually got dropped of closer. Good bus driver. We get past the Disney Gestapo and their never-ending bag searches. I must say that I understand the need to do this, but I am of the opinion that if anyone really wanted to get something inside for sinister purposes he or she probably could.
As we are heading down Hollywood Blvd., Panda wants his picture taken so that the giant Sorcerers Apprentice hat at the end of the street looks like its on his head. Hey, official photographer! Over here! So with a little skillful maneuvering I get the picture. Not bad if I do say so my self. I should do this for a living.
Onward to the Muppets. Nala and I rode this ride on our first trip to WDW a few years ago. Being a Muppets fan I enjoy this attraction. We have the exact same ride at DCA, but this is the one I saw first so its my favorite. As we leave the Muppets, we make a bathroom/shopping stop. I make the pit stop but not the shop stop. I hate carrying bags around all day and by the same token a large backpack. In fact I avoid bags of all shape and sizes until Im leaving the park. For this reason, if have to carry a bag, I carry a small daypack that will fit little more than a towel, and my camera. On to Star Tours.
This ride is the exact same as at DL. I can still remember the first time I rode it back in 95 on my first trip to DL since I was 4 or 5. This is cool ride for those who have never ridden it before and something of a joke for those of us who have ridden it too many times. When you know the dialog, its time to quit.
After Star Tours, we head back to the hat and find that the characters are out and signing autographs. Panda goes into the line for Tigger and I jump into line for Lilo and Stitch. Stitch is my boy. Suddenly I hear, Look, its Chuck and Dave. It was at this point we all learned about Chuck and Dave. TGB proceeds to tell us the entire story about delswifes DD, Em and her penchant for calling Chip and Dale, Chuck and Dave. This was the funniest thing I have ever heard. I cant even look at Chip and Dale now without thinking, Hey, theres Chuck and Dave!
We all finally got our pics taken with our respective favorites and prepared to move on. We moved to the Indiana Jones Stunt Show. This is a very good show as it kinda shows how some stunts are done in the movies. Obviously it is camped up a bit, but overall entertaining. While ther is no room at DL/DCA for something like this, I would like to see something along these lines there eventually. I think it would be a very good addition.
Next we got a snack and headed out to Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, Play It! TGB was now in her element. This is the most game show fanatical woman I have ever met. She absolutely came apart when she found out GameShow Network was available. Anyway, we ended up getting to sit in the fastest finger chairs (TGB is ready to burst) down on the floor. Nala and I have played this before at CDA many times so we are calm cool and collected. TGBs eyes are bugging and she is positively charged up. The host comes in and makes some small talk about the great prizes you can win (oooooo pins and lanyards and hats and shirts and a cruise) and starts the show. As the fastest finger question comes up I see TGBs fingers fly over the keypad. A few seconds later the winner is seat 276. TGB is seat 2 right under 276 in time by .02 seconds. Damn. Now TGB is disappointed but get really uptight as she finds out that not only is this girl from Canada (it was US geography question) but that she guessed the answer. It was at this point TGB decided that when she is next at CDA, she is going to devote her time to Millionaire and win. Victory or Death.
As we leave Millionaire, we visit The Haunted Mansion props attraction and One Mans Dream Both of these are worth visiting, but take your time in One Mans Dream. Uncle Walt was a genius. By the way, the miniatures in here are cool too.
We go and ride Tower of Terror again and then decide to head out. We have done everything in MGM for the most part and we make our way over to the boat dock for a ride over to the Beach Club/Yacht Club Area. Did someone say Lunch? We have lunch at Beaches and Cream. This was very good. Dont miss the ice cream.
As we leave, we decide to get the bus to MK and then the boat to The Poly. This was a longer than normal ride but we got to see more of the property than we normally would have. Oh well. We get back to The Poly and take a break. After that lunch, I could have used a nap. It wasnt long before we were informed by TGB that we needed to get back to MK to see Spectro as it was the only chance this week that we could see it. Back to the monorail!
As we enter MK, we see that Main Street is already packed. Hmmm. Where shall we sit? We find a place and watch the show. It was OK. Not as good as the Electric Light Parade at CDA, but OK. Through Nalas penchant for striking up conversation with complete strangers, we find ourselves in the midst of a group from Michigan. It must be said that Nala will talk to anyone, anywhere, anytime. Hence they probably find out more about us than they really wanted to know and vice versa. It was after several of these conversations that we discovered half the state of Michigan was in Florida to escape the cold.
After Spectro, Nala and I go off to ride Buzz Lightyear again while TGB and Panda secure a spot to see the fireworks from. We return to find them in the Plaza Rose Garden. As it turned ot, this was the perfect spot to see the show. Tink flew over us and we were able to see the castle turn colors throughout the show.
It has been a long day as we head back to The Poly via the boat. Tomorrow Panda and I will go and live the dream. Please Lord, dont let me screw the pooch and hit the wall or something else just as embarrassing. We fill out our final sheets of paperwork and go to bed. The roar of the engines is only a few hours away.
