Yeah, I've had co-workers tell me, just sell something on eBay, and, boom, you have a business that qualifies you for a business credit card. Ok, I guess I could do that, but I really don't have what I would call a business. I think plenty of people get comfortable getting business credit cards on relatively "thin" business explanations, and if the credit card companies really cared, they would require more verification. I don't think most of them care from what I've heard. But, I've always just felt that I don't actually have a personal business, so I'm not going to do it. I'll just make do with non-business credit cards.
