Cell battery life?

We read on our Kindle app while waiting in line, checked the MDE app, Facebook, took pics and played video games. So our batteries in our iPhone 5's drained quickly. But each of us carried a small Anker battery charger from Amazon in our pockets. It comes with a little pouch to carry it in and fit the battery pack and the cord and easily fits in a pocket. So you can look into these sort of options and then use your cell to your heart's content.

Are there generally places with outlets to plug in your phone to charge? Either charging stations near benches or at restaurants, or anything else?
Another vote for an external battery pack. I like the 8000mah or larger chargers that can hold 3 or more charges before the battery itself needs a charge.

I have a sony xperia z3, love it great battery life, water proof and runs Android. My husband and myself carry Mophie power packs. There are also power packs cases that fit on your phone and start charging when you get low. We are both into location based mobile gaming on the phone so battery life was a big factor when picking out phones.

I invested in a Zerolemon 8500 mAh battery for my S5. It cost $60 off eBay but was WELL worth it. It can last for about 2 days on one charge! I'll never have to worry about charging it except when I'm asleep in the hotel room!

After ready all the threads here over the last few years, I was very concerned about my battery life while at WDW. I got a Jackery Bar charger. Its less than $30 and is a very good size. It charges my I-Phone 4S very quickly so I feel I am very prepared for our trip in March

I had a Mophie back when I had an iPhone 3, but the problem with those is that when you change a phone, you have to get a new pack, since they are sized for a specific phone. Since then I go for a seperate mobile charger like the Anker.

I have to ask, because it sounds like something fun, what is location based mobile gaming?

The game is called Ingress, you play one of two sides and go around to portals which are real world objects like parks or public art you capture the them for your team. You blow up the other sides stuff and defend yours. Its a lot of fun.

Thanks for the response -- that sounds like a blast!

Which Anker charger does everyone suggest? we have 1 iphone 5c, and 1 iphone 4s's... thanks!

The last time I was to WDW was when I was 3. No cell phones or need for one. We did go to DIsneyland last year and found our cell phones died very quickly, like within an hour or two of being in the park and from being fully charged at the hotel.
Does this happen at WDW as well? I have a wireless charger, but it is subpar. Any recommendations for a decent one? TIA

I find my cell phone drains quickly when data is on. If I shut that off and set it for wifi, it doesn't drain as quickly. And when I shut for wifi, the battery lasts longer.

As I rely on my cell for texting and phone calls when family splits up, I tend to shut off data and wifi to help keep my phone charged. I turn them back on when I need to use the app.

We also discovered that I had lots of apps that were constantly updating, so I also adjusted my settings to stop all that. (Husband's old phone. I cleaned it up some, but still has lots of things I do not use.)

Also, if your phone is older, it's more likely to drain faster. That's what happened to my old S3. Even with a Mophie case and 2 or 3 extra batteries, those also drained very fast and I had to carry a charging cord around with me. That's why I spared no expense with the Zerolemon when I upgraded to the S5. (Forgot to mention in my last post that the Zerolemon battery is so big, it needs its own Otter Box-esque case! They make versions for plenty of different phones.)

Sometimes the old phone just acted stubborn, other times, the heat made it drain quicker.

Although, when I went to WDW last year, my phone's battery didn't drain all the way simply because I was paying attention to the surroundings of the park. (but since then, I've become a more prolific Instagrammer)
