Celebrity Sighting at AK

We were at AK on Monday, 2/17 and we saw George Lucas and his family enjoying the park. They were escorted by 2 cast members the whole day and we saw them first in Dinoland, just about 9am when we were on our way to Dinosaur after riding Primeval Whirl and Triceratop Spin. Later that day, we saw them heading into Asia and then once again by Kilimanjaro Safari.

We saw a couple try at the exit to Dinosaur while he was waiting for his wife in the gift shop, but the male CM with him told them that he was touring the parks and not there on any promotional event so they shouldn't ask for a photo or autograph. Not sure if this was just the CM speaking or something George Lucas requested. We got a photo of him the first time we saw him, before we heard the CM say this, so once the film is developed I'll post his photo.

I would bet that Lucas (or one of his people) specifically requested it. Hopefully most people are understanding when receiving that sort of reply--after all, even George Lucas is entitled to a vacation. If he tried to be accommodating to even a small percentage of those who would like an autograph/photo/handshake, the ones that didn't receive a moment of his time would walk away upset.

That's official WDW policy. CMs can even be fired on the spot for accosting a celebrity.

Also, priority entrance is granted to people whose presence in the queue could cause undue confusion or danger for themselves or others (such as dignitaries or celebrities) or celebrities who are performing a promotional event. I saw Meredith Viera at Hoop-Dee-Doo over the holidays. I was the only person at my table who knew who she was, and I really think that that was the case for the whole room, but since she was down to tape the ABC Christmas Special, she was granted priority entrances.
