Celebrity DVCers?

Not sure if he is a member or anything, but I read somewhere that Jon Bon Jovi and his family were at WDW not long ago (this summer maybe?) I would have LOVED to run into him!!!

I think there are famous folks who are DVC members because of their kids/family. They themselves may not stay at DVC digs but their family probably would. Just my thoughts.

Me, too

CM's at VB have shared that JBJ often vacations there with his family as well. I keep hoping it will be the same time we're there, but.....

if you are rich do you care that you saved a couple thousand dollars on your vacation?
Yes, rich people love a bargin just like anyone....

Jon BonJovi is a perfect example of a celebrity who does "regular joe" things.......I've also heard he coaches some of the sports his kids play, so, why wouldn't he stay at a DVC resort? He wasn't always a rich and famous rock star........he grew up in a working class neighborhood and just may enjoy doing things the same way the rest of the population does rather than being waited on and chauffered (?) everywhere. I seriously doubt if he were at WDW and dressed like a regular 40 something guy on vacation (ie baseball hat, shorts, sunglasses, and sneakers) with his wife and kids that I would even recognize him (other than thinking to myself "Wow, nice looking guy"!! LOL)

We met some off-duty CMs over the summer while we were waiting to see "Jack Sparrow" outside POTC. They told us that Johnny Depp himself and his family visit frequently, always without a entourage.

Now... Johnny Depp I would recognize.........he's got such a distinctive look....made up like Captain Jack or not. I would also like to say about him "Wow .....what a good looking guy"! However, I would love to have my five year old grandson with me if I were to see JD since he's a true Captain Jack fan (we watched the first Pirates of the Caribbean so many times it finally gave up......and we had to get a new copy the week before Dead Man's Chest came out).

I'm not sure, but I may have read on another thread, that some people use trusts, shell corporations, or even misspellings to cover their 'identities' on the OC Website?

I know I do!!

I love the fact that Fred Grandy is better know for playing Gopher on the Love Boat than for being a 4-term congressman from Iowa.
Isn't Gopher on VH1's Celebrity Fit Club this season???

I was staying at BC when Michael Jackson rented a whole hallway of rooms, and posted guards at the end so no one could walk down that way.. I was there when LeAnn Rimes and a bunch of others were there too. And, when Grand Floridian opened, both Michael Jackson and Madonna stayed there. There is supposedly a pool up on the level they were on in the main building. There were a bunch of celebrities there at the time. And I've seen several country and western singers with their families on the boat from BW that heads over to Disney MGM--I would never recognize any of them myself, but a family member is a real fan, and she goes up and says hi! They're sitting there in their shorts and baseball caps, just like the rest of us!

We have seen quite a few of the ABC soap opera stars during Super Soap Weekend and they all stay at the Epcot resorts, not the DVC resorts but YC/BC/BI. We have also seen the Back Street Boys (when they were popular) at YC, which is where they were staying and have also seen John Travolta and family at WL.
We have a close family friend that works Conceirge at WDW. When there are celebrities at WDW they do not stay in regular rooms they stay in the suites and usually take up quite a few other rooms on the same floor, for those traveling with them. They (celebrities) have a great deal of their trip comped by Disney. The suites they stay in are absolutely gorgeous complete with kitchens, multiple bedrooms, dining rooms etc. They do not need DVC accomondations, believe me. We have been lucky enough to be in a couple of these suites, thanks to our friend, and they do make a DVC GV look a little less "grand". One suite at BWI even has a fireplace! Don't know why you would need one in FL, but it is there.
We LOVE our DVC, don't get me wrong, and we feel like millionaires when we stay in a DVC villa. But a DVC villa compared to the tippy top WDW resort suites, is middle class.

This is true. When we stayed concierge at WL for our anniversary a few years ago, we were given a tour of the presidential suite (it was unoccupied and the concierge offered to show us around). As nice as the villas are, they just don't compare. That suite was INCREDIBLE!!

JBJ and family stayed at AKL, and loved it!! I don't think they are DVC members, but are huge Disney fans.

I know a celebrity ( can't say who) who is in fact a DVC member. She has a HUGE amount of points. She mostly has it so that her family can enjoy WDW.

I can't imagine it matters if you have a lot of money or not. If you can save money you do. The difference is they have A LOT of points and we don't.

I grew up in the same working class neighborhood and went to high school with him. Sorry, just had to mention that after reading this post. :sunny:
