Celebrity DVCers?

I believe that Sean Hannity's radio program is done from WABC in New York. That would make him an ABC/Disney employee.

:surfweb:

I checked the Orange County website and Brett Favre was the only one with a registered DVC deed. No Sean Hannity, no Jimmy Carter, no John Stamos, no Michael Knight or Michael E Knight.

I was browsing through the latest edition of Vacation Magic today and saw that NFL player Adam Vinatieri has been a DVC member since 2002. It made me start wondering what other athletes and celebrities are members. Does anyone know of any others?

I find this so ironic. When I was pregnant with my now 3yo, DH and I had decided if it was a boy we were going to name him Vincent Terrence aka Vinny Terry! lol Glad she was a girl, since Adam is no longer a Patriot!

I have to go back to read the rest of the posts I read this one and started laughing.

Aah, but there is a John Stamos that owns at Vistana, LOL. Probably somebody else though, huh? I would hope he would buy on-site and not Sheraton! :rotfl:

Maybe celebs buy under their spouses (or childrens) names to avoid people like us. :)

I'm not sure, but I may have read on another thread, that some people use trusts, shell corporations, or even misspellings to cover their 'identities' on the OC Website?

You would think that if Jimmy Carter was a DVC member, he would have stayed at a DVC property more than 1 time in the last 10 years!

I used to work for the Carters, and if they are DVC members, it would have to be a relatively recent thing.

I heart the Carters... such nice people.

One reason I can't see DVC working well for the Carters is the Secret Service. Whenever they attended our organization's conference, they had to book a bunch of hotel rooms so that no one would ever know which room the Carters themselves were in. The Secret Service stayed in some of them, and some sat empty. That would take a lot of DVC points!

Okay okay ... I'm a celebrity DVC'er ... I just won't say who. :p

Checked the web site! Favre is a BCV owner! I would bet he probably doesn't go much. Probably his wife or in-laws take the kids. They could go in relatively unnoticed I would think. Most people would have no clue who his family is.

Did I read somewhere that Steven Tyler owned at the Boardwalk or was I just dreaming???? :cloud9:

Could you just imagine "bumping" into him a night at Jellys? :rockband:

I am not a celebrity but a few of my park days at Disney my own Family can't tell who I am. With baseball cap, lip gloss only and sunglasses. I imagine there are a few celebrity owners who share with friends and family and I would guess they avoid putting things in their names for several reasons.

if you are rich do you care that you saved a couple thousand dollars on your vacation?

That was the first thing that popped into my head. Don't all former Presidents have SS protection for the rest of their lives?

If I was a celebrity, or wealthy and non-famous, I would book concierge at WDW deluxe resorts. DVC is really for the middle class.....

I would think the rich and famous would like to have a nice quiet vacation like everyone else does. If they go first class all the time, they are not left alone. Look how everyone, as soon as they see the characters, want autographs, pics, etc..... So, I would guess, celebs would like to see WDW like we do, without anyone bothering us.

Exactly, but thats part of the whole equation!

what do they care if they drop 20k on a membership even if they barely ever use it. like a previous poster noted, its probably used by their families and friends and the like more than by them

not really I dont think--the wealthy still have families and might like a grand villa to lounge about in.

If money wasnt an option I would take a GV over concierge anyday.

I know that Michael Eisner stayed at OKW during his tenure(probably in a GV). CM at OKW told us. Wouldn't really consider him middle class! Although I'm sure money never changed hands or was even thought of....

Yup--I live in Kennebunkport, Maine (summer home of Bush # 41) and he has SS detail full time...and not just b/c his son is the current President. I am friends with several of the SS wives and all former Presidents have full time SS detail. And from these friends I know that yes, they do book whole floors of hotels, etc. Although, as the former President gets farther away from the time he was actually in office, things do get more relaxed. They may no longer take entire floors of hotels, for example, but just take rooms on either side, etc. If Carter owns DVC, the SS would pay for the adjecent villas (well, U.S. taxpayers would...) or however many they deemed necessary for safety purposes.
