in any case-they obviously reccognized the boy had issues with siezures and took the precaution of always employing 24/7 caretakers for him.

Our local CBS affiliate news this morning said he went into the bathroom on Thursday and he wasn't missed/discovered until Friday.

Which is peculiar no matter HOW you look at it.

How about acting like intelligent parents and using the correct medications instead of acting like idiots and having a dead child.

Unfreakin' believable! Do you have ANY compassion???? This family has just lost their 16-year-old son -- I cannot imagine the depths of their grief. Or the depths of your insensitivity.

Ceasing or changing an anti-seizure med due to serious side effects is very, very common. My mom suffers from a seizure disorder too and over the years, has been on many different anti-seizure meds because continuing to take them, could have been deadly. She has been on meds for 9 years, but despite that, still has grand mal seizures. From everything I've read, the Travoltas did seek medical care for their son. In fact, it has been reported that they were following a neurologist's recommendation when they stopped the Depakote. But, that's neither here nor there.

Frankly, although I believe everyone is entitled to their opinion, I don't think anyone is entitled to be cold-hearted and cruel. Shame on you.

Unless it was late that evening.....and people fell asleep. I sometimes hear my DS get up to use the bathroom, but I fall asleep before he's out of there.

The Travolta's are saying that Jet died in the morning the police believe it was during the night. I would probably believe the family over the Bahamian police, but that's just me.
It is a fact that Jet was on meds for his seizures.
I don't get the outrage over people choosing scientology for their religion.
I have worked with a few scientologists on projects & they were some of the nicest, most intelligent people I have ever met. They knew I was a Catholic & never tried to convert me or anyone else I knew.
If someone does not agree with the use psychological drugs, they are irresponsible?
I can say that psychiatrists that play trial & error games with people's brains are worse than irresponsible.
I can't believe that people get so worked up about a religion when the drugs that they are against kill people daily.
How many of those websites that bash scientology are funded by drug companies, & if you don't think that the billions of dollars in advertising affects the media....
I know I'll propbably get heat for my post but the bashing of scientologists on here has always been a little extreme & the tragedy of the Travolta's son dying dosen't need to be dragged through the trash!

I believe a spokesperson for the Travolta's has come out to say that this statement is false. Jett was seen earlier in the morning on the 2nd. It is being guessed that he fell shortly before he was discovered.

If he had full time monitors, 12 hours seems like a long time to be unaccounted for, even overnight.

I feel sorry for anyone who has lost a child. It seems that the Travolta's were loving, caring parents who never intended to put their child in harm's way. While I believe that parents who refuse medical treatment for their children based on religious beliefs are horrible people, this really didn't seem the case with the Travolta's and the death of their son. It sounds like it was a terrible accident.
