Celebrity Child Loss

Today's tragic news about John Travolta's son made me think of Eric Clapton's little boy falling from the balcony of a hotel, and I saw that one of Mia Farrow's (although now adult) children died the other day.

Of course there are the "crime" stories like Jonbenet but those aren't celebrity stories until after the fact. What other celebrities have had a child die? I can't think of them now but I'm sure there are some.

Please keep this respectful - I know the Travoltas and other parents must always have this loss near their hearts.

I just felt horrible when I read this, I cant even imagine.

Cant think of any other celebs at this time.....

Going way back, I think Marlon Brando's daughter commited suicide..there was a big story with that too I think, with the brother killing the boyfriend of the daughter.....cant recall all the details....but that is the only one that came to mind.

I know both Paul Newman and Carol O'Conner lost children to drigs. I remember vividly an interview with Mr Newman saying " It never gets better it just gets different". That one sentence sticks in my mind. So true.

I watched a TV show where Travoltas wife was talking about Kawasaki disease long long ago and I thought she said her son had it, but nothing mentions it that I'm reading today. Poor family. I cant and dont even want to imagine what they are going through.

Not only did his son die but his first wife (the sons mother) commited suicide about a year later.

Carol Burnett lost her daughter to cancer. George H. & Barbara Bush lost a daughter to cancer when she was really young too.

Author Dominic Dunne lost his daughter, actress Dominique (she was in Poltergeist- the older daughter) to domestic abuse. Her former boyfriend strangled her outside her house in 1982- she was brain dead and taken off life support about a week after the attack.
