Okay we just back from a weekend at Disneyland for my daughters birthday. We decided to go to Celebration BBQ last night. We were not impressed at all. The portions were small, the food was not that good and they forgot our suprise bags, though I had ordered them ahead of time. By the time I remembered them we had already left and I was too fed up to go back. One thing I should mention is the beans and ribs were slightly spicy. I did not mind for me, but with small children who don't like spice, I thought I would mention it. The show, if you want to call it that was nothing. One lone cowboy singing with his guitar and a very brief appearence by Woody. We were very diappointed. I wish we had saved our money for one of the character breakfasts or Goofys Kitchen.

On another note. We stayed at the Quality Inn. It was okay for a night. No bugs, but the rooms are small, old and need some repair. The pool is really small and nothing to write home about. No sauna. The front desk people are okay according to my husband. It is a okay, cheap one night hotel, but I would never stay there a week. Oh yeah it is close enough to walk to Disney, same distance as Howard Johnsons accross the street.

I completely disagree about the Celebration BBQ! We had more then enough food and we got extras of whatever we needed. The goodie bags are NOT included anymore so the only way to get one is to pay extra when you pay your bill, you pay your bill at the END of the meal not before so it's likely that you did not pay for the goodie bags. The BBQ had a bit of spice but my girls don't eat anything spicy and they liked the BBQ sauce a LOT, they even ate the beans which is totally off for them. lol When we were there they had a cowboy with his guitar strumming and wandering and singing to families, Miss Chris came out as well and they sang together, then the guitar player left and a piano player came out, Miss Chris was still out and then Woody came back out (he was out when we got there doing a skit on the stage) and did another skit, then Bullseye came out and did a skit with Woody, then Woody left and Jessie came out and did a skit! We also saw Chip & Dale but they went to the petting zoo area not the BBQ. Our experience was 100% different from yours.

Thanks for the QI info, that's what we need many times, just a bed to sleep in, so it's good to find hotels with that available that are close by. :)

I am glad you enjoyed it. We were expecting so much more I guess. We did not have near as much entertainment as you. A short visit by Woody, but that was it, no piano, no Chip and Dale (though we did see them before we went in for the group before us). There was not even a character to take pictures with. Maybe it was because our visit was later in the evening, but I still think they should have the same quality of service. The waiters were great, the guitar singer wonderful, but everything else, not so great. The bags I mentioned when we went in and then also when we made our reservations. My fault I forgot. It would not have been so bad, but it was my daughters birthday and we were expecting a little more.

Maybe we just hit it on a bad day or something, but we won't go back. Too many other places we like better.

Yeah we didn't want to do this when we were there a few weeks ago. Seemed awfully expensive for the character interaction that you got.

We loved it! One of the best meals we had this trip... dd got pics with both Jessie and Woody and Chip & Dale... lots of skits on stage, piano playing... it was lots of fun. The ribs are a little spicy, dd just ate chicken... and the presentation of the dessert was better than the cupcakes themselves (I liked them, dd thought they had too much frosting.) But we really enjoyed the night. The best part for us was how hot it was that day, to get to sit in the shade in the park and drink a ton of lemonade!!

We went last Thursday and I thought it was a fun time. My husband loved it because he got to eat all the chicken and ribs he wanted (he's on a low carb diet right now). My DD loved interacting with Woody and Jessie. She also got called up on stage for a bit with Ms Chris and the guitar player-they taught her how to yodel. I do remember thinking there were some lulls in the entertainment, but that may have been because it was only about 1/3 full and I'm used to overcrowded character meals. The only negative was that my 3 yr old DS fell asleep in his stroller right when we pulled up and didn't wake up until the show was over. :sad2: I was disappointed because he loves Toy Story, but I did get a cute picture of Woody saying 'Shh' next to his stroller.

All in all I'd give it a 7+. Not great, but overall it was fun and really good food (lots of it too. They kept asking what we wanted more of and bringing it out). It was pricey, but a nice change from the typical character meals.

Oh man, we had so much Woody interaction it was crazy! He kept coming over to our table and messing with DBF's hat and glasses, same thing Chip & Dale always do to him. LOL We didn't do many photos with Woody or any with Bullseye but when we walked in Jessie was out and we had a pro photo done with her, it was so good that I ended up buying it and I rarely buy those photos. It's such a bummer when I hear negative things about the BBQ because honestly I think it's one of our faves and we've only done it once! lol

We were there on Thursday too! Our ressie was at 5:30.... maybe we saw you there? :)
