Celebrating Easter 2011 on the Magic

We are having gorgeous weather in southern CA today - makes me so excited for the warm caribbean days that are just around the corner!

I don't usually pack this early but you guys are making me nervous so I think I'll start today. Anyone interested in a meet at the Promanade Lounge before safety drill? Cannot believe that in 2 WEEKS we'll be on Mickey's boat!

Meeting before the drill sounds great! A Disney staffer told me the drill is at 4.

I am pulling all the little stuff together first then packing clothes last. FE holder done...made it myself! I can't stop talking about this trip. It hit 89 in TN today! Getting excited!!!!
@Pixie-are you going to assign each family a day/night to leave FE?
:cool1:

I'd rather leave it random because I am not sure of everyones plans. Shore excursions, Palo Brunch or even just activities you plan to participate in. What does everyone else think? We could assign a day if everyone wanted too.

I would prefer it to be random as well. I am sure we will do ours on our at sea days but you never know till you get there what is going to be going on.

We are interested in a meet & greet before the safety drill - keep us posted on the plan.

While it will be fun to celebrate Easter on the ship, I am realizing that is one more thing to factor in to the packing. My kids still believe in the big bunny and look forward to easter baskets on easter morning. But hard to think of things to fill the easter basket with that don't take up too much room, can be hidden in our luggage and are not just candy. I am thinking flip flops, new goggles, some card games/coloring books for younger 2, etc. Anyone else come up with easy to pack ideas?

In case you are interested, here is a link to recent Eastern write up and navigators...

My little man is expecting a visit from the BB as well. My husband was going with the "The Easter Bunny can't swim" line but I do not think that will suffice. In lieu of basket, all EB swag is in a new red sand pail and includes new sunnies, sand shovel, Tangled, misc. disney gear (t-shirts, hat, etc), etc.) It turned out supercute and with the exception of the dvd contains all items that can be used during the cruise.

Thanks Griffith6...I'm very excited about the Easter cruise...My Mom is planning on attending the Easter Services (She'll be the one in tied dyed orange!!). I would be interested in a meet and greet as well, though I have no children.

The weather is looking good but a little wet. If anyone has done the EC before do you recommend poncho or umbrella?

I am doing water related things, swimsuit and small Easter goodies...I am going to pack them in my bag but put them in tied bags so she can't see it. I am going to bring some sort of cloth bag for her "basket".

The one thing I haven't considered is the weather...don't know why it hasn't occured to me till now but I sure hope it doesn't rain our whole cruise.

My kids don't really believe in the EB anymore, but I am bringing a couple of things for them too. I picked up a frisbee, and a hand toss game for the beach, books to read and glow bracelets/necklaces for the pirate party. I thought about getting each of them a frame from DTD - we are flying in a day early, and I would like to find a couple of Disney drinking cups/glasses that they can fill via the paper cups from the drinking station. Instead of bringing candy, I thought maybe I would pick up something from Goofy's Candy store. For baskets, I just bought small gift bags. They fold up easy and don't take up alot of room in the luggage. I'm also going to try and make t-shirts for them. Has anyone else ever done that? Any tips you can give me?

Hi everyone! These days are going by too fast!
Pixie- Do we have final counts for FE? The last list I got was missing 1 room #... I have a count of 24 kids total, looks like 11DS and 13 DD? Did everyone come up with same numbers?
Sorry- trying to "finalize" everything, and want to make sure I am up to date!
Thanks!

Maybe I added wrong but I thought it was 22 (14DD and 8DS). If I did, I have to fix some things. :)

Well I just went over my list again because I got something different then both of you....I have 10 families total including mine...10 boys and 12 girls...41 total people....22 of them are kids.

Last list I PMed should be right. Still no word from funon2ft. I will look at it when I get back from work tomorrow. Plan to spend the day Sat putting mine together (just need to pack and label them) I still have lots to do before we leave. Haven't really started packing yet.

I re-added the list (and put it in a spreadsheet b/c I am an accountant) :). You are correct. 10 families including my own, 10 DS, and 12 DD. 22 Children.

I think I was adding funon2ft on my list.. you had kids and ages, but no room... so I wasn't sure if they confirmed... So, don't include them in the counts?
KANDC- impressed with the spreadsheet!
Thanks!

So, I recently changed our Palo dining reservations to overlap formal night. This way DH only has to "dress" for one occassion. For those of you whom have cruised with Disney previously, what is the general attire for women. I had assumed a cocktail dress would suffice however the CM with whom I spoke said a ball gown. I have frequently cruised other lines and never saw fit to wear a ball gown. Any advise is greatly appreciated.

10 DS and 12 DD was my count too!! Still no confirmation for funon2ft so I guess we do drop him. Tried to PM and used the email connected to the PM and no response.

KandCcan you send me the spreadsheet? Thanks for putting it together!!

Just about done with mine but older boys are getting the best of me!! No idea what to do for them.

Kandc - Ha, I am an accountant by background too so I love a good spreadsheet and would love if you would PM to me to use as checklist.

Need to finalize the FE gift wrapping too - been dragging my feet but need to get it all together this weekend
