CDC says cancel any events with 50+ people for the NEXT EIGHT WEEKS

Los Angeles city mayor just ordered all restaurants, movie theatres, libraries, gyms, etc. (basically any business or public place) closed for two weeks. Supermarkets and doctors offices are exempt. Restaurants can only have delivery

Where did you read that? There is no genetic condition that requires 3 month dental cleanings.

I read it here:

People are going to have to stop with the entitlement attitudes during this crisis. Period.

First, they said procedure, not cleaning.

Second, are you a dentist? Are you current on all oral conditions? Are you an expert on every issue that someone has that causes them to go to the dentist? Or are you just a a Google hero?

So let's just assume you are an expert on teeth and all dentists should shut down. How long? What about people who need emergency dental procedures? Broken teeth, root canals, wisdom teeth needing cut out. They supposed to just suck it up for the next few months?

@Farro I go every 3 months, too. My next one is April 14th. It suuuuucks if I have to delay, like I had to last time due to being sick and then my hygienist having surgery. I’ve had gum grafting done. I know your pain!

Holy crap! The wuhan virus is not captain trips.

They are going way overboard.

Why didn’t they have this reaction with the flu, which has infected and killed more people?

The majority of people who died have other serious illnesses that contributed to their death. I wish that they could list the age and health of all the people who have died of the virus.

At least 80% or more of people who get the virus have mild symptoms and survive just fine.

The constant coverage and fearmongering by the media is adding to the problems.

Oh god, gum grafting was worse than the bone grafts!!! I had stitches all over my mouth.

That little series of posts was rather bizarre! Took my mind off of everything! :D

So if 20% will be ill enough to need hospitalization or medical care that’s 65.4 million ppl in the US. The concern is that ppl will be sick at one time overwhelming the healthcare system. Do you think Italy is just fearmongering?

I see some people still don’t get it.
CANCEL YOUR VACATIONS AND STAY HOME ON YOUR ***.

THAT WISE ENOUGH FOR YOU.

I have a feeling she is expressing her feelings and trying to make lite of a bad situation. I didn't take it like she was being nasty.

By the entire conversation I read it as yelling, and that the poster was telling people to shut up about their vacations ... not considering the fact people are worried about their livelihoods.

I saw no lighthearted fun of a bad situation. I took it as being nasty.

Sometimes it’s hard to read intent.

I have to go to the dentist tomorrow to finish an already started procedure. I haven’t left the house in over a week. I’m dreading it, but I know I might not have the option of going even a few days from now and it’s not something that can wait months.

I don't know. I really feel like this is kinda getting out of hand. I mean I get it's important to take precautions, but I also feel like this is starting to ask us and our economy to just stop living almost completely for over 2 months. There are tons of contagious diseases/viruses etc. and I understand this is new and not well understood, but I do think there needs to be some kind of balance.

My dh owns a business (service/ entertainment)and he will still have to pay the bills and mortgage on the property regardless if he’s open or not. He’s already had to cut staffing due to less people coming thru the door. He’s scared. This week is spring break and one of his busy weeks and now, not so much.

Who knows at this point what this week will bring but by the fast pace of last week, we are already used to the news changing quickly and this week may be no different in that regard.

In any event, it makes sense to get your needs situated as it's likely we're in for another bumpy week. I wouldn't be surprised to hear of strict measures put in place to start in 72 hours or so. I have a decent supply of food, hypertension Rx refilled tomorrow, some board games & books, my loved ones with me at home and the rest are reachable by phone. "The paddle game, and the chair, and the remote control, and the matches, for sure. And this. And that’s all I need."

<3 And good health to all!!! <3

I'm looking forward to all the creative videos that will come out of everyone isolating at home.

I fear many pets may be in for some costume changes... :D
I agree with the fact that there will be funny videos, I have already seen a bunch. What I am AFRAID of is how this will affect the mental health of many of us. Isolation and constant fear is never a good thing. Judging from the exchanges on this board, I can see that many are already feeling the ill effects.

Well, this no longer makes sense.

Hey all! Stay safe and healthy! Take care of yourselves and each other.

I'll see ya when I'm happily trip planning again! :D
