Yes, but then you were wondering why younger people were not getting as sick last year before vaccination. You stated the variants are affecting younger people more severely now than in the beginning. I think it's because the newer more aggressive variants can only attack the unvaccinated at this point. Back before we had the vaccines, the strains going around were spreading to all age groups, but the older weaker population were the ones getting more sick. Now that the strains spread even faster and are more severe the younger age group is getting hit hard. I think they were still getting sick last year, but it was more mild in younger folks.
