CC 5K - Help with logistics

I'm considering running the CC 5K on our upcoming cruise and I'm hoping to get some help in planning out our day!

We have a cabana booked, so I was planning on having DH and DS8 head to the cabana while I run and then I would meet them there afterward. I will definitely need a shower, however! Are there outdoor or indoor showers near the cabanas? I would love to avoid going back to the ship and wasting precious beach time. Thanks!

Quick google search at images shows they do in fact have showers at the cabanas.

Just go for a dunk in the ocean afterwards and shower later. That's what I'm planning to do.

They do have showers at the Cabanas...I always just jumped in the water myself. I am planning on sending DD15 and DS12 to the cabana while me and the DH run the 5K, that is of course unless I can convince them to run with us LOL

Thanks everyone! Yes, completely forgot there is water everywhere at CC - LOL!!

DH and DS8 will definitely NOT run with me! I wish!

A question just popped into my head that I believe you can answer (since you've done it before): The navigator says "Castaway Cay 5k Start - 9:15am - 9:45am." Is that the meet up time on the ship or the actual start time?

It varies...we've never had the same time for start. When you do the 5K there will be a meet up time/location on your event tickets (provided you sign up early) and once at that location you will get your bib and everyone departs the ship from there. When we did it we met in one of the lounges. Depending on how efficient things are (or aren't) passengers who were not running the 5K could be disembarking at the same time. We have had it both ways, 1st time we ran we were 1st off the ship, next time we were having to make our way through the throngs of people trying to get the perfect umbrella chair

If you have several people in your group who want to do the 5K, can you register for them all yourself at Guest Services, or does every runner have to be there in person?

Also there's a curtain in the cabana that you can change behind.

Curtain at the cabana, outdoor shower or my husband just jumped in the ocean. Snacks, cold towels. Having the cabana after the 5K was very nice. Not necessary, but very nice

I just slide down Pelican Plunge in a celebratory manner after I run!

We don't run but would be interested in walking the course sometime during the day. Is the course shown on the Castaway Map or can we get a trail map from Guest Services.

Just so you know, they don't always give out bibs. I've done it with and without bibs.

I ended up going back to the ship to meet up with my group. I was the only one running and they slept in a little. I went back showered and ate. It worked out great having younger children at the time.
