HI ALL
WE (WIFE, 2 BOYS AGES 6 & 3, 1 GIRL AGE 1, AND I) LEAVE IN 8 DAYS FOR A WEEK @ CBR.
WE WILL BE FLYING DOWN SO WE WILL BE RELYING ON WDW’S TRANSPORTATION. WHICH AREA @ CBR IS BEST (POOL, TRANSPORTATION, ETC) AND HOW EXACTLY DO I GO ABOUT REQUESTING THIS AREA?

There is an entire (huge) thread dedicated specifically to the CBR. Go to the top of the Resorts page and choose the thread entitled: Important:WDW Resort FAQ and Information Threads.

That will take you to a screen where you can choose the CBR discussion. I think there are over 200 posts! There's a lot of good information there!

You will love CBR. I have included the link to the thread about CBR. It contains lots of good information. I also have a web site with recent pictures from our latest trip to CBR.

If you have any questions please let me know.

We just stayed at CBR with our 3 kids, ages 5, 4 & 2. We requested Martinique after reading all the posts on this board. We were happy with our choice. Martinique is a great location, close to the main pool & food court. The transportation was good as well. One morning we did wait for a MK bus for almost an hour. They acknowledged that there was a problem with transportation to MK that morning. Since we missed early entry due to the bus problem, guest services at MK gave us 2 fast passes to use anytime during the day. That was the only problem we had with transportation the whole time.

We faxed our room requests to the CBR room assignor 4 days prior to arrival. We got everything we asked for...non smoking, first floor(so kids don't have to walk up and down the stairs) and Martinique.

Have a great trip!

Have a great time! CBR is the best! You have got to check out saftetymom's thread. It answers every question you can possibly think of!

DH and I stayed at CBR first week of May and we requested Jamaica. We love CBR and stayed in Martinique last time but someone on these forums told us to request Jamaica. Great reason - about 80% of the time it is the first stop for the bus to pick up AND to drop off. There is a great pool nearby, much quieter than the one at Old Port Royale and the kids will love the swingset that is right on the beach in front of Jamaica's pool. Trust me - when we were there, transportation was bad, the buses were completely overcrowded and we were unbelievable glad that we had chosen Jamaica. Have fun - already miss Disney:)

CBR is the greatest resort. You will love it. Jamaica is a very good choice, transportation-wise. Although not next to the main pool/food court, is it a lovely location in the resort and the walk to the main area is only about 5 minutes. You go across a bridge and get to take in some very nice scenery on the way. I personally enjoy the walk and prefer this area--either Jamaica or Aruba near the bridge. Martinique is good if you need to be closest to the food court--like maybe if you have very small children. (but then you miss the beautiful walk!)

In addition to the main pool, all the "island" locations have their own invididual quieter, unthemed pool if you don't feel like going the 5 minute distance.

I honestly don't know why everyone makes such a big deal of the size of this resort. From even the farthest out location, it is no more than a 10-15 minute walk to the food court area, and the farther out you are, the better and more views you get on the way in! Plus, if you are far out, it is almost like being on a very private island! So maybe couples might enjoy those areas.

Long Walk??
We stayed in Jamaca in 93 and Aruba in 95.

Aruba is a longer walk but if you have a water view it is the best vista in the resort. It is a great view of the lighthouse bike rental stand and OPR. At night the lights from OPR reflect off the water, it is so nice!

I can never understand the long walk complaint when people are at WDW.
It seems a bit strange to complain about a long walk to the food court or bus stop and then walk around the parks all day. The walk to the food court and bus stop is short compaired to the miles your will walk when touring the parks.

Now on the return trip from the park I can understand wanting to be close, but lets face it, walking is just part of any WDW vacation no matter where you stay.

Have a great trip!

Hi,

Your kids are pretty young so I would want to stay as close as possible to Old Port Royale as possible. Ask for Trinidad North or Martinique 25 or 26.

CBR is a huge resort and really beautiful but I remember what it was like when my kids were very little. You really want to stay as close as you can to Old Port Royale.

Have fun!
:D
