It depends on how you like to eat. If you're happy to eat mostly counter service with just one or two table service meals, I'd take the savings.

If you're planning on doing a bunch of character meals, I'd take the fd. That Storybook dining at Artist point will cost your family of five $253+tax.

We just got back from POR last week and I'm amazed by how beautiful this resort is. Can't wait to go back!!

Another fan of Riverside.
We have stayed at both. CBR looks really nice with the updates. But, it is huge and you could be a long ways from the dining area or the main pool. Buses also seemed very crowded due to the size of the resort.
POR isn't small, but doesn't seem as crowded.

Yes, realize that. I did read earlier that when using the DDP you aren’t giving a receipt with your meal itemized and a total. Is this true? I can’t remember from 7 years ago. And if this is true, how do you know how much to tip?

I thought it listed what you ordered on the receipt...but I do know that the tip is calculated at the bottom..I think either 18 or 20%

We recently stayed in CBR and we hated it because we were far away from the dining and the main pool. If we would have been closer to the main area we probably would have enjoyed it more but it really just felt like we were staying at a regular motel. There were so many bus stops just within the complex that it seemed to take forever.

Free Dining at CBR will be rack rate and only give QS dining. Plus you are required to get park hoppers for every night booked.

I would think Sun and Fun + adding Dining with regular tickets would be cheaper.

I am a POR fan. The location, the idyllic setting (great for walking and taking your daily run), boat to Disney Springs, easy to get to all the parks, not only the main pool but smaller pools throughh the resort and most are so very peaceful.

Ok y’all....so my dilemma is this... I have a 5 night stay booked at CBR with the fun and sun room discount for a family of 5, myself, DH, DD (17), DS (10), & DS (7). (And No park hopper) I am having second thoughts about not doing the free dining discount. Now, there are no rooms available at this point at CBR with the free dining, but there are still rooms available at POR with the free dining. However, the cost will be $1200 more at POR. It seems like a no brainer to just stay where we are booked, but I also like the thought of dining credits. Weighing all of this is stressing me out. I’m going to have to buy food while I’m there anyway, and I would then have a PH option that I don’t currently have. I’m having a really hard time figuring out how much we will actually spend on food daily and if the extra $1200 will be worth it. I need help and lots of advice asap. Thanks everyone!

If you do the dining, which TS would you be looking at? Buffet/AYCTE places where you have to pay for all five of you regardless of appetite or a la carte options where you would otherwise order what you want? If a la carte, would your 10 year old actually order off of the adult menu, including an adult dessert?

I love POR but not the looks of Alligator Bayou so I would choose CBR. I also want to check out CBR post construction.
