CBR vs. AKL

I was just wondering, my mom has a ressie for AKL, do you think it would be a good choice to keep it or change it to CBR? We've stayed at CBR but we haven't even visited AKL. I'm not sure I'll like AKL, I've seen a picture of their pool and slide and the pool is very plain and the slide is very short. BTW I'm only ten and I love to swim.

Just stayed at both last week. My 14 yr old DD says go to CBR. She's an only child and says the pool was boring if you don't have anyone to swim with. (Never mind that we didn't even GO to the pool at CBR, just looked at it!)

I have not been to the AKL yet but there are a lot of pictures of the AKL on www.allearsnet.com, have you seen those yet? The AKL pool seems huge, plain but huge so you'd have plenty of swimming room and it would probably seem less crowded than the main pool at the CB. On the upside of the CB (my favorite resort) there are several quiet pools so it would be easy to have lots of swimming room as well. Also, there was a thread about the best pool and AKL was often right up there when it came to being rated high b/c of it's slide. I'm not sure how long it is but it sounded like it was longer than most. Perhaps it just looks smaller in the pictures? If you guys switch to the CB definitely swing by the AKL to see what the pool looks like for future trips.

Also what are you looking for in terms of a pool? Fun theming, large slides or long slides? More room to swim without people in the way or do you like crowds? This could help us all answer your questiosn. Have fun!

We haven't been to CBR, but we'll be there in 18 days! We stayed at AKL last year.... the pool is really good, 2 hot tubs as well.... the slide there is not great, and we enjoyed the one at Wilderness Lodge much more a couple years earlier. But AKL is awesome for kids with lots of great views of animals everywhere!

There are a ot of really col things to do at AKL. We went there just for dinner and were able to take part in sme of the activities. I think you will like the other aspects the resort has to offer.
