Just returned today from a week's stay at CBR. The room was very nice. Love having the curtain closing off the sink area. The shelving under the sinks is a big plus. Coffee packets in room are now free as of 7/18. Mugs and ponchos no longer available in room. Mugs come in 2 different styles and four different colors making it easy for families. Transportation was great. Excellant as a matter of fact. Never waited more than 5 minutes for a bus. They were constantly coming around. Always had a seat too.

CBR very accommodating with room requests made at time of reservation. Was able to get what I requested and I was given a choice of what location I wanted.

Liked having a chair outside my door. Many a night I sat outside just enjoying my surroundings.

The bridge over parrot cay was being repaired from 11:30 pm til 5:00am. Sign was posted but I was walking around one evening at midnight and didn't see anything going on.

I did not like the foodcourt at all. Tables too close to one another. Beverage bar not as big as other resorts. No hot chocolate. 2 out of 4 ice machines not working. I hate paying at seperate stations too.

Resort is very large. At times it was a pain walking to the foodcourt so we would just eat at the theme park.

Thought my son and I would enjoy parrot cay one evening. This is a beautiful island during the day, but be forewarned about walking through it at dusk. ALL the birds were flying in to roost for the evening. The noise was like something out of a science fiction movie. It was bizarre. We felt like we were in a rainforest. We covered our heads and high tailed it out of there. Had a few laughs about it though.

It was really hot this week so I didn't really get a chance to enjoy the beaches at all. Just too hot. Did see the fireworks from EPCOT at the Trinidad North beach one evening and one evening sitting out by the Banana Cabana poolside bar.

All pool water very very warm. Like a bath.

The flora is certainly very tropical. Lots of ducks by the water. Oh, they would walk up to my room in the morning too. When they realized I wasn't going to feed them they eventually left, but it was cute to see them there in the am.

My major disappointment was with the food court and unfortunately I probably would not go back to CBR based on the foodcourt. We visited the foodcourt at ASMO and we felt it was outstanding. We feel AS has the #1 food court followed by POR, POFQ and CBR last.

We really loved the curtain by the bathroom. It was so great for the early risers, so the late risers could sleep.

We also liked the extra shelf and the bench with the storage inside.

Welcome back!

Nolcrest, welcome home:)
I totally agree with you on the food court!!!:(
We were there in June and the ice machines weren't working then either....can't beleive they haven't fixed them yet!!

But we also had other issues that might keep us from going back:
They really gave us a hard time about our room request.
They wanted to put us in Trinadad South, and I asked for anything BUT! And the gentleman was not budging....he insisted that it was a really nice building.
Well, with my 11yo DD, I didn;t want her to have to walk so far to the food court for a drink. I just didn't feel she was safe walking that distance alone.
Anyway, it wasn't until I asked if he could either check with another resort or give me the phone so I could check, then he found something in Martinique.
I just felt he was rude and unnecessarily stubborn about putting us in South. We weren't insisting on a certain building, just not as far as South.

What buiding did you request?

And those BIRDS!!!!!! It seemed like something out of the Alfred Hitchcock movie!! LOL:D

Glad to hear you had a wonderful time - We've stayed at CBR twice now (and have such wonderful magically memories of our own), but are ready to try the other moderates.

As I'm sure you've heard before, CBR is an older resort, and therefore suffers from some poor foresight in design. Their foodcourt is very disorganized compared to POR.

However, the ambiance of CBR can't be beat, there's nothing like watching a Carribean sunset or sitting on the beatch and watching Illuminations :p

All things at Disney are magical - just varying degrees of it.

:D

Welcome back! What time did you check in? Our flight arrives at MCO at 11:30 a.m. and hope to be at CBR by 1:00 p.m. I've requested Martinique and hope to recieve it. Thanks for the info!

We checked in at 2:00. Only 1 person ahead of me. Quick check-in. We were given a choice of Trinidad North 33 1st floor (room wasn't ready yet), or martinique 22 1st floor (room was ready). Martinique 22 looked like a great building. It would overlook the beach. The distance to the food court between the two looked about the same. Trinidad North 33 would overlook the parking lot but was very close to the bus stop. We chose to wait for Trinidad North 33. We had our car with us and liked the fact that we were near the parking lot and the bus stop. I'm happy with our choice. We ended up with a corner room and the bus stop couldn't have been closer. If we wanted a view, martinique 22 would have been better. Oh, right after I checked in there was a line of people waiting - I think maybe a tour bus arrived - 'cause it got busy fast. Have a great time. I felt the staff there was great.

Is it true that the corner rooms have two windows?
