CBR - Preferred room worth it?

We have stayed at the CBR every time we have gone to Disney. Every time our room has been in Aruba which has been great. But that means it is quite a walk across the island to to OPR for snacks and drinks. The kids will be 4 and 7 when we go in May. I am debating whether it is worth paying for a preferred room so we are closer to food and the main pool or just take whatever we get.

We always get preferred. We walked over to Aruba and jamaica and were very happy we had preferred but we like being close.

Definitely worth it! :thumbsup2 Our family loves CBR. (I do miss that walk across the bridge at 6am to get my morning coffee, though. ;) ) Sigh...

We have stayed at the CBR six times with two of those times being in preferred locations. One of those times, we paid for preferred because that's all that was available when I booked. The other time, we were upgraded.

We have no issues with walking from anywhere in the resort and wouldn't pay the extra money to stay preferred. Having said that, I do have to admit that it was really nice staying in Martinique 26 and having a 1 minute walk to Old Port Royale.

When we stayed there, we requested Jamaica or Aruba, but ended up with Barbados. We only walked to Port Royal once a day for breakfast, but it was a long walk. We wished we had paid for a preferred location. Also I wished we had requested ground floor. There are no elevators.

Yes - preferred is worth it! We love staying in Trinidad North. The walk to the main building is short and pleasant. :goodvibes

Ok - I had convinced myself we would be fine saving the money that a preferred room would cost ($125)and then I read these comments and I am not so sure anymore...I had been considering just making a room request for Aruba or Jamaica and walking over the bridge. (Or rather sending my husband on snack/drink runs while the rest of us are resting our feet.)

We were upgraded from a standard room to a preferred room (Trinidad North). I'm convinced the location (and the room) helped me fall in love with CBR and if we book again at CBR will definitely bood a preferred room. The walk was just perfect.
