Right now we are booked at CSR.... thinking of switching to CBR. How are the buses at each? I know the beds are double and at CSR they are queen. But overall how are both resorts?

We've never stayed at CSR, but we loved CBR. Everyone's experience with transportation is different, but ours was great. The resort is large and although there are multiple internal bus stops, we found the buses to be quick and efficient. With that said, CBR would my choice as CSR's theme/decor really doesn't appeal to me.

We have not stayed at CSR yet, but CBR is our favorite moderate by far. It's got an awesome pool with a splash pad area for the little ones. There is such a laid back relaxed atmosphere there which is such a nice break from the craziness of the parks. The grounds are lush and gorgeous. Every village has its own bus stop and quiet pool so you are never far from one. The food court is laid out nicely and has a good selection. We just love it.

Its nice to read positives about CBR. we're thinking of staying there on our next trip. We like to try out new places.

OP, We've stayed at CSR, but not CBR. I cant comment on CBR but i will say that CSR is very pretty. Buses are the best i've ever experienced. Never had to wait long or stand in the buses. I love that there is QS at the pool, as well as mug refills and the arcade as well. No need to go to the main building as much.

Very pretty resort, inside and out. I think its best with older kids. However, if you have smaller kids, it appears as thou CBR might be better because of the pool....zero entry pool and a pirate splash structure too. CSR only has one wading pool.

I've stayed at both, and imho CSR is worlds better than CBR. 3 fewer bus stops, buses that are not so jammed packed, and better food choices.

I cant believe CBR has 7 stops! Jeez. Good thing we wont be using the buses!!! We rent a car. So thats not an issue where ever we stay.

As for better food choices....I didnt really care for the CSR food court. I liked it when it was a QS buffet for breakfast, but they no longer have that. Which is a shame cause it was way better than a la carte IMO.

To me that makes it a tougher choice. The majority of what I disliked about CBR had to do with the size of it--how long it took the buses to make those 7 stops and how long it took to walk up to the food court in the morning. Being able to drive takes care of those problems.

I still wasn't thrilled with the food at CBR. But then I'm in the minority of people who really like the Pepper Market at CSR. Didn't order anything there that I wasn't really happy with.

Jumping onto the thread as I am trying to make this decision as well. We are booking on Wed. and considering CSR, CBR, and Pop. Out of the three, I've only stayed at Pop. Our kids are older, so we are leaning away from CBR, but I'm still undecided at this point.

We switched to CBR as my youngest liked the pirate pool. We will be using the buses so we will see. Guess we will just leave a little earlier. We are used to staying at POR and they shared with FQ our whole trip so that was 5 stops together. Hopefully we are the first stop on and off LOL

We stayed at CBR a few years ago with my parents (Dad 74 Mom 70) and paid for the preferred rooms. We still had a 10 minute walk to OPR. I was disappointed that we paid extra and didn't feel very close to the food court.

Now we are planning on going with my in-laws who are also in their 70's. It is their 50th anniversary. My father-in-law had knee surgery. We are considering both CBR and CSR, how do we obtain a closer room to the food court?

We are also interested in hearing other's opinions about the pros/cons of each resort.

Thanks for the feedback.

You still need to pay for the preferred location. And then have it noted that you have someone who had recent surgery and really need a room close to the food court. And tell them again at check in. If you can check in very early in the day, and tell the again of your need. That is about all you can do.

Pros for me of CSR over CBR:

3 less bus stops. That much less time spent driving around the resort, picking up guests.

Queen sized beds instead of fulls.

Better food choices. I prefer the Pepper Market over the food court at CBR.

And another one I thought of for you, elevators. CBR doesn't have them. CSR does.

I was in the same dilemma when POR and POFQ were both excluded from free dining. I went back and forth many times and read multiple reviews and asked for several opinions since I had never stayed at either.

After going through it all (we have 10 year old twins) we settled on CSR in a business class room for the following reasons:
1. Location- we will be guaranteed to be right by the main food in 9B and in the Cabanas area. The cabanas is the ONLY section we would stay in because we are from AZ and wanted something other than the southwestern feel of the Casitas and Ranchos. We are also a quick walk to the pool. As someone else stayed they payed for preferred at CBR and still were far away...didn't want to have to worry about it!
2. Queen beds over full...enough said!
3. Business class at CSR offers the free Club room where we will stretch our dining further and not have to use snack credits for breakfast! Very much looking forward to this!
4. Busses- seems most have had a good experience at CSR...most have NOT at CBR!
5. Pool slide- the slide is much more exciting for my 10 year olds as it seems CBR's pool and slide are geared towards younger. Once I told my son he was actually too tall to play on the boat water feature, he lost interest in the resort. Not sure how much they enforce it but we are actually a rule-following family :)
6. Food situation- looking at the menus, we are more likely to enjoy the CSR food better for our tastes...and we will only be eating at the resort once or twice :)

The only thing that really drew me to CBR is the resort-feel itself...like a vacation within a vacation. In the end for $100 more, we gained all the above, IMO, and I know we will have a great time!

We've stayed at CBR several times and it is the preferred resort for my DH. The only time I didn't like the location was when we stayed in Jamaica Bldg 41...just seemed like a long way to anywhere and it faced a parking lot. :sad2: That said, the grounds are beautiful and the resort has a laid back feel that just suits us. It never really feels crowded unless you are in the food court in the morning for breakfast....but then, so is every other food court in the morning. :rotfl2:
The bus situation can be frustrating....many buses go by, but if it's not the park your visiting it can be a challenge for little ones to be patient. (Bigger ones too!):lmao::lmao:

Hope you enjoy your stay!

Super excited. We are booked for Dec 12. Hoping for great weather. We choose a preferred room at CBR. The main reason was the food court. I was reading that you had to wait to be seated at CRS food court. The staff would bring your drinks and clear your table. The self service aspect of CBR fits our Disney lifestyle better.

Regarding CSR, there are no longer "servers", no longer any tips or gratuity. It is the same as other food courts in that you go to the counters that cook the food you want to order. It is made fresh for you. They stamp a card of what you got. This way you do not have to take your hot food and stand in a line to check out while your food gets cold. You can sit right down and eat your food, then pay at the register as you leave using the card. There is a drink station in the middle of the room where you can get your drinks and refill them. The food is better than most food courts and if you are on the dining plan it's one of the best values for the QSDP. We will drive there to eat even when staying elsewhere.

CSR is great! Best bus service...I've never had to stand on a bus and it's usually the first bus in the queue at the parks. The pool is incredible and has one of the longest slides on property, and definitely the largest hot tub. The beds are very very comfortable! I love the hammocks and beach area near the cabanas. I think it's a "Step above" the other moderates.

I was going to book CSR and they don't have any standard rooms left during the weeks we want to go. :( What are the chances of more rooms opening up later?

depends is there a Conference going on the week you want? if they have rooms blocked and they don't fill up rooms will open for the public. I would check with the Hotel to see if that's the case.

Okay great. That makes sense. Thanks Arthur. :)
