BIL called today and said that his cat, Baby, has been shaking for a few hours today. He said that it's like she's shivering constantly, even when he holds her and tries to keep her warm.

Anyone have this experience? Any idea what is going on?

He is taking her to the vet tomorrow, but we're all a bit concerned at the moment.

I had a cat about 15 years ago that this had happened to and when we took her to the vet it was a nervous system condition and was not able to be corrected and unfortunately we had to put her down because after a couple of weeks she was unable to eat or drink properly and went to the bathroom wherever because she no longer had any control over it---i hope your BIL's cat does not have this but get her to the vet asap and if it is I hope hers can be controlled by the meds and if not do whats best for the cat to cut down on its suffering as hard as that is to do

Tomorrow may be too late. Please have him take the cat to the Vet ASAP!

Call the vet back and make sure they know what she is doing. She might need treatment right away.

I am wondering about this now... she is overweight and ather docile. We had just talked about this before you posted it.

Unfortunately, everyone he has called has said that tomorrow AM is the best they can do. There's an emergency vet nearby, which could be an option.

If it were my cat, I would take it to the emergency vet.

Hope everything is o.k.

Hey Jilly Bean!

I really think you should take the kitty to an emergency vet. I know that if my cat, Baxter were in that shape I'd get him somewhere ASAP. I hope you guys figure it out. :grouphug:

::yes:: I'd be too worried to wait overnight, it sounds serious. Hope the kitty is ok! :grouphug:
