OMG this picture is too funny!

I like looking at all the kitty pictures.

We are adopting tomorrow! We were planning on getting 2 young cats/kittens and were visiting a couple shelters to figure out which one we wanted to adopt from. We went to one last weekend, that we really liked. Too early for kitten season, but I made the "mistake" of picking up one of the older cats there. His name is Kipsy, he's all black and he's 7 years old. He was so affectionate, started purring and talking to us. When I put him back down on his shelf, he looked like he wanted to throw himself back in my arms. Since we were there only to check things out, we left without seeking anymore info about him. But then I couldn't stop thinking about him. When they reopened for the week, DH called and found out that he was there because his owner had died unexpectedly, and the owner's family didn't want to deal with him. That just broke my heart even more. I was already worried for him, because he was an older kitty, and being all black I thought would make it difficult for him to find a home... so I decided he was ours. It's been a busy week here, so we couldn't go back to the shelter until tomorrow. I have his room all ready for him. DH & I haven't had kitties since we both lived at home, so about 15 years! But we didn't want to adopt until we bought a house. We'll see how he adjusts, and then we may get the kittens next year,

That is a great story!!! Thank you for adopting an older cat!!! :goodvibes I've always wanted to go that route, but we adopted strays instead since they just seem to find us first! :confused3

That is Yogi when he was about 9-10 days old. We got him and his littermates at 3-5 days old (there were 5 total) and bottlefed them and cared for them.

We also have Yogi's brother, Omey. The rest of the litter did not survive--we were nursing with help from a vet and techs, but the other 3 were weak.

Here is Omey then:

This is their 1st birthdays...they're bigger now!

They are 4 now.

This was the whole litter of 5:

The 2 little ones were 2ish ounces when they got them and they are 16.5 and 17.0 pounds now at 4.

This is Babe who is 13 and 9ish pounds:

This is Tarzan (who is now 7 and 14 pounds), Booey (who is 13 and 13 pounds) and Huey who died at 14 in 2006:

I love to take pictures of my cats, haha.

Oh, it's been so long, but this is our old little stray friend-cat from DH's and my very first apartment. She'd come visit us every day, and every day we'd feed her.

We named her Dahlia, and she always responded to that name. I miss that little girl!

Here's Dahlia!

Our baby Darby hanging out on the cat tower

Mowgli at 5 months old PS - The orange on his paws are soft claws. We didn't declaw him and used caps instead. (Couldn't declaw per a contract we signed with the breeder.)

Pixie - She's now a year old but in this photo she was a couple months old.

All three of our cats are Maine Coons. So far Mowgli is the biggest. He's almost 13 lbs and from tail to head is apx 40" long.

Are those painted nails I see...?

These are my furbabies Humo (gray) and Chloe (tortie)

They are strictly indoor but were very curious about our recent snow.

Lets just say that their exploration didn't last very long :rotfl:

Are those painted nails I see...?

We ordered them online so we could get them in colors. We put red and green ones on for xmas. For easter we put all different colors for easter eggs. Kinda fun it's like changing finger nail polish but with a simple plastic cap. Plus our cats love to sit and put them on. (Not sure why but after the first time they love it.)

So we brought Kipsy home today. He's getting settled in our extra room, but he is definitely an affectionate sweetheart.

My (15lbs.) Panther. He's actually quite tall and long, but it doesn't really show here.

My "other" cat, Pippin. He lived with Panther and I for awhile, but really didn't take to being a house cat (both he and Panther were born as farm cats at my parents). Now he's back to being a farm cat at my parents' place and seems much happier.
