Cat. 10 Deck 2 on Magic

Hi all,
I am new to the DIS boards although I looked alot at Cruise Critic before my cruise in 2001. Now with a Jan. Cruise in 2003 aboard the Magic I had a few questions. ( not no where near the info. about Disney on Cruise Critic)
Is the Cat. 10 room ( deluxe) a nice room for 2 adults 3 small kids? ( we have adjoining rooms with their grandparents if not)
How is Deck 2? (motion, etc..)
My kids will be 4,9, and 11, all girls, will they get bored? I am not sure if they would do the kids programs. ( My oldest is shy around people and I am pretty sure we will keep the youngest with us, not 100% comfortable about leaving her without us. That may change as I read the boards more and see other peoples experinces)
I am full with lots of questions on the Disney Cruise but this will answer some until I read the boards more. We traveled on Carnivals Sensation without the kids, so this will be there first.

about midship with a family of four in an inside stateroom. For the four of us (kids 3 1/2 and 8) we had plenty of room. You wont fit 5 in that stateroom though. Travelled with another family of six who did the adjoining staterooms and they had enough room for the two adults in one stateroom and four kids in the other. Their cabins were in the 2600 section toward the rear and they had a little engine (or other system) hum going on back there, but said it didn't bother them. We had no problem with noise or motion in our stateroom. Midship elevators were closest for us, but the fore and aft elevators are a little quicker, so I'd suggest using those. The restaurants/theaters are only one or two decks up, so in those cases, just take the steps. Use the aft elevators and they put you right at the Mickey pool/Topsiders Buffet anyway.

Our 8 yr old liked the kids club better than our 3 1/2 yr old, but he didn't have any of the other 5 kids in our group with him since he was the youngest. There were days when we barely saw our 8 yr old. Kids club handles the meals while they're in there, so no worries about them not eating.

would check to see if there is any cat 10 on deck 5 avaliable
also known as secret porthole rooms yes they have a port hole
but r sold as the rooms u have inside deluxe stateroom
partially obstucted but not really that much.
go to www.castawayclub.com and look at the pictures of these rooms then u can go to disney cruise lines site and look at deck 5
the ajoining rooms r 5022- 5024 0r 5522 - 5524
it is possible to end up with port hole good luck
ask travel agent or who ever u booked threw...

All Category 10's are equipped with a queen that can be divided into two twins upon request.

We went for the first time and had cabin 2544 and LOVED IT! It was a cat9 oceanview deluxe. Granted, there was only 3 of us in the room, but I packed 3 carryones, and three suitcased and had plenty of storage room (under the bed was great). We put the carryon's in the closet. Also being near the stairs were great. Infact, I lost weight going up and down the stairs so much - elevators were way to slow for me. We are looking into booking for 2003 and would suggest that room/area again.

Hi Lovethatmouse,

We are in 2058 for our July 6, cruise. Did you have the two porthole view or the large porthole view. I have been told both ways for the deck two staterooms. We will be a family of three, DH, DW, and DS(15year old). Glad to hear about the room space. I get more excited each day and I am already thinking about the next one.

I was looking at the deck plans and I have another question, Was your room adjoining to the room next door? I can't tell by the deck plans. We are suppose to have adjoining rooms with husbands parents. Anyone know.... I do know we are in Cat. 10. Deck 2, inside deluxe staterooms. Are they all ajoining, or just some, or none at all. Questions, Questions, Questions

The magic word is connecting. Adjoining only means that they are right next to each other. If you want a door, you need connecting rooms.

Thats a new one for me. I have stayed many places where adjoining means having a door in the middle, I had know idea about their was a difference.(REALLY)

Can anyone help with my question on if the cat. 10 deck 2 inside deluxe staterooms are connecting?????????????

It is so hard to tell by the deck plans.

I'm sorry, didn't mean to sound rude or anything. I wasn't sure what you were actually asking. Some are connecting, some are not. On the plans, at least in the brochure, there's a little line to indicate if it's connecting or not. __/___ Kind of like this.

But you have to make sure that you say connecting, not adjoining - it depends on what you asked for, then you need to double check it too.

We got jammed at All Stars once - I'm not sure what I asked for then, but now I always remember to say connecting.

ladybugs: I can't see where you listed your room numbers. I have my chart right here to check on the connecting door, but I don't know which rooms you have booked.
