Is it important or desirable to deboard early in the day for Castaway? The only time I could book Bippity for my 4 year old was on Castaway day at 10:45 am. I figured we could just have breakfast, knock that activity out, and then head out to Castaway.

Am I off base there?

Seems like you would want to swim at castaway before getting hair and makeup at BBB. But to answer your question, there are many chairs and umbrellas at CC. Plenty for everyone.

This is a very good point and likely explains why there is only early availability that day.

Yup...a classic newbie planning mistake I suppose.
There is so much planning involved it's easy to overlook these things.
You try to jam every activity you can and just snatch up reservations when you see them.
Then later you look at your itinerary and say "Hmm well that might not work"!
FWIW we have never done BBB bc it eats a lot of vacay time. We usually do 3-4 day cruises so time is limited.

Maybe if you plan to go to WDW in the future do it there.

Enjoy.

I would definitely save BBB for a land WDW stay. There’s so much fun activities on the ship and the pools that it can interfere in other plans or fun activities. On a recent stay at riviera there were ladies dressed in the godmother robes with their cute wheeled makeup cases to get the kids made up in their room for a day at the parks. It’s an outside vendor but a great idea and nice that everyone else can still be getting ready or having breakfast etc. If you are staying in Orlando before the cruise maybe do something like this for her to be all made up before boarding the ship.

Others have made great points. I would add that for many, Castaway is a highlight of the trip. Having a 10:45 appointment won't give you much time on Castaway. If you finish BB at 11:45 you make your way to get off ship by 12:15 . Then it's 12:30 or 12:45 to get down the road. Maybe longer if you stop to get pics and greet characters. By then you find lunch is being served. So it could be 1:30 or so until you get down to the beach or explore the island. Not really much time until you have to head back to the ship.
Sometimes there is a lady on the island who does braids. Maybe that could be an alternative to BB. Sometimes she is on the boat also.

I would at least try to get BB moved to a different day or later in the day after you return from Castaway.
