Castaway Club freebies

Not sure if anyone has already posted this info or not, but on our 5/18 Magic cruise we received a DCL beach towel and 2 Castaway Club pins. Yes, this is the coveted pin that everyone has been upset about not receiving in their CC packet or upon check-in at the terminal. The towel is very plush and my DH informed me last night that it would not be put in the towel bucket for use by our pool.

I know this is great news for some that have built up a supply of the duffle bags, but I was really hoping for the bag. At least I would get more use out of it. Beach towels, I have a million of.

Too bad they don't let you choose your CC onboard gift....

Lori, thanks for the update on the CC beni's. I kind of agree with Julie in that we were hoping for the bag but if the beach towel is as nice as you say, then I'm sure it will get used quite frequently at home. I am assuming that's one towel per room just like one bag per room so the DW and I will be fighting over it on CC. At least we still get two pins!

You become a CC member as soon as you cruise the first time. No need to remind them; a gift will be waiting for you!!

We cruised for the 1st time on the May 5th Wonder and we didn't receive any 'freebies'. Do I need to call someone or will I be getting something in the mail? By the way, we LOVED it and can't wait to take another one!

Will we get 2 towels - one per stateroom? How about 6 pins - one per person? I'm VERY happy as I was going to get everyone a DCL beach towel this time, was mad at myself for not buying them last time! Now I'll have 2 less to get (hopefully)

disney6, you will get 1 towel per returning cruiser family. Remember that this is for returning cruisers only (Castaway Club members). There was 1 towel for my family of 4. There were 2 pins for my family.

Hi Lori, we are returning cruisers and last time we had 2 cabins so figured they'd give one gift per cabin? DVC did give a small gift (bottle of champagne) in each cabin so?????? Keeping my fingers crossed!

I recently cruised on the Wonder...(May 19th). We had two extra teens along with our own two teens.. so we had to book 2 staterooms. We received one towel in each of the rooms and two pins in each room.
A note about the Castaway Club.. this was our third cruise with Disney and it was our first Castaway Club gift. On our last cruise which was in May of 2000.. we were invited to the meeting with the captain but we never received any gifts from Castaway Club. For us to be invited to the meeting, they obviously knew we had cruised with them before. When we talked with our TA and told her we wanted to book this third cruise and had cruised before... then she called Disney directly and got us a Castaway Club number. So I'm not sure that you become a member just by cruising.. You should only consider yourself a member when you receive your Castaway Club ID number.

I do have a club member # from our may 01 cruise. Maybe next time I talk to TA will mention this. Would be nice to get a FREE gift.
