Snorkeling is on your own, not an excursion.
Even pre-COVID parasailing was more likely to be cancelled than not due to winds.
Yes, you mus still wear one of the yellow inflatable vest which you can pick up at no cost.Is it allowed to bring your own snorkel equipment and snorkel in the lagoon?
I really wish that DCL would bring back the Castaway Cay 5K.
Please report back how it went. thanks! We have parasailing scheduled for our Fantasy cruise this next week. So far it hasn't been cancelled. But as others said, I've had it cancelled in the past just for wind.
I respectfully disagree. It's not the same when you're doing it on your own.You can run it on your own time and get the medal. That sounds better to me.
They got rid of the CC 5k as it used to be because of how many people claimed they'd be doing it and then just rushed for a hammock.
I’m new to runDisney and was really hoping to do it next time.
To add to that, save when it is the once a year runDisney edition, it is not timed either. The only time it is officially linked with RunDisney is when they are able to do it following Marathon Weekend (and maybe the others, not positive). That is also the only time it's a true 5K. The rest of the time it's not a full 5K.
we were on the same cruise. Our kids were out and about on the play structure thing all morning (until it was closed for low tide) and had a lot of fun. We heard from others who did parasailing, and saw plenty of snorklers (both with their own and rented equipment). Many fewer excursions than usual, but the bikes were free.We did parasailing on March 18. It was a lot of fun. There were lifeguards out by the snorkeling, so I'm going to say that it was open, but we didn't do it. That kids' slide was closed, but the Pelican Cove was open, although DS said it was a long line.
There were still a lot of extra excursions that weren't available, but that's because they couldn't meet the Bahamanian Covid restrictions. We did the glass bottomed boat, though... okay for what it was, but I thought I'd see more fish than we did. The guy running that excursion said there was a deep sea fishing excursion, but it hadn't been on DCL's site, so maybe that was privately run.
I don't remember hearing about the 5K run, but they were selling the tshirts and I think I saw a couple of people finishing it up, so maybe it's still a go?
Good to know! Is this something you have to sign up for still? You can run it on your own time and get the medal. That sounds better to me.
