Cass, Rob and Kira back in Disney! Toddlers' tempers and tantrums PTR NOW LIVE !!!

While looking through trip reports who should I come across? Could it be the Timon? Yeppers! Look how grown up Kira is getting!

Well, I am here and reading along. Won't be on that boat with you all but hope it is a great trip! Maybe the next one if you all do one of the new ships. :rolleyes1

Harrison loved the "Castle" she made.

That's cute, she called it a "Tower"! :goodvibes

Cass, I love your buttons. I am not making shirts this time either.

I think the buttons work out because there are so many meets. Can't keep wearing the same shirt every time ;):lmao:

Where the heck am I going to put all this crap?????

----------------------------------------------------

Today was a very productive day for trip stuff :cool1:

I started some serious packing tonight and I've come to the conclusion that I am a serious over-packer :rolleyes1

This is the first trip that we will have to pay for luggage so I was trying to keep the luggage to a minimum  After actually getting out ALL our suitcases and packing some stuff that we won't be needing in the next 6 weeks, I've decided that I'm not so sure if I am going to be able to follow through with that :scared1:

I have 4 suitcases, 3 large 29" new-ish ones (which were designed after the airlines decided to rip-off their customers by making them cough up even more money to take all their crap with them and, therefore, are quite light!) (Holy run-on sentence batman!) and one 26" older one that isn't as light but not as heavy as our WDW ones we bought in 2000.

Rob, Kira and myself will each have one of the new bigger cases for our 10 days in WDW and then the blue one will hold all our cruise stuff that we won't need until we board the ship.

Our friends Bernie & Sean, who are travelling with us, kindly offered (ok, so maybe I begged a little :rolleyes1) to take our cruise suitcase with them when they come down on the 17th because they are flying Westjet (Canadian airlines still allow 2 complimentary suitcases per person) and won't be bringing their max amount of allowable luggage.

Yes I know....you're thinking it's a bad idea to have ALL our cruise stuff in ONE suitcase, right? Well, I thought about it and I figured that if they lose our luggage, we still have 6 days before we actually need it for them to get that bag to us.

I've only ever had one experience with an airline losing my luggage. Flying back from Las Vegas in 1999, it was accidentally sent to the very other end of the country and it only took them 2 days to locate it and then 2 days to get it delivered to my door. So, with 6 days to spare, I think my odds are good and I am gonna chance it :teeth:

So, as I was packing away...I realize that these cases are getting awfully full and I still have a lot of crap to pack still :scared1:

The cruise case is almost full and I still need to put in Rob's pirate jacket (which still needs mending), my whole pirate costume, Kira's pirate costume, my formal dress (which I bought yesterday ), 2 nice blouses, Rob's suit, 2 dress shirts, 2 ties and his dress shoes!!!!!

:scared1:

Then, I realize that ALL of these suitcases are going to be FULL in 6 weeks when we are ready to go! ::yes::

Which, of course, leaves zero room for all the crap we are going to buy there!

:worried:

So I called Rob in and explained the whole situation, telling him that we are going to have to buy a suitcase when we get down there unless we don't buy anything while we are down there.

Since he knows that I know that he has a huge shopping problem  he says:

"OK"

and then walks out of the room.

That is how we ended up with the blue suitcase (2007) and the two WDW suitcases (2000, 2002).

:lmao:

And that was before we had a little princess to spoil rotten princess: :rolleyes1

Since I just bought one of those suitcases (we now have 3 that match ;)) I had to give it my little Cass-makeover :rolleyes2

All my suitcases need to be Mickey-fied before they get to travel. Not only does it look Mickey-fied but it is super duper easy to spot on a luggage belt ;):thumbsup2 Double whammy!!

I use my Mickey Ears punch (scrapbook thingy) to punch out Mickey Ears on shiny sticker paper and I put them on every single side of my suitcase so that no matter how my bag tumbles down that luggage belt, you can always spot the mickeys :earsboy:

Check this baby out...

Only 38 more days to go!!!! :yay:

More stuff done today! :cool1::woohoo:

----------------------

My morning was spent working on the BOBigator.

What the h-e-l-l is a BOBigator you ask???? :rolleyes1

Well, if you have cruised on Disney Cruise Line before then you will be familiar with the Navigator, which is a nice handy little leaflet with times and descriptions of all the activities of the day, delivered to your stateroom each evening of your cruise.

Well, since we have such a huge group of DISers on this cruise and we have many meets planned, I decided to make our version of the Navigator called the BOBigator :thumbsup2 (What, you don't like the name I came up with??? :rolleyes1)

The first page lists all of our meets along with some handy-dandy info and the second page is basically a list of all our members and their info.

Voila, Le Bobigator......

I hope my fellow BOBers enjoy it :goodvibes

My Itinerary

-----------

Told you I got lots done today ;):woohoo:

For the past 18 months or so, I have been working on our trip itineray. I print out a blank calendar in Printmaster and as the months go by, I come up with a plan of attack for the trip. The very first draft is always exciting and never even close to the final version ;)

It mostly just sits there at my desk for the first 12 months or so. Then as the departure date nears, plans come together. :teacher:

Park hours are released, Early Entry days are posted and with the help of Touringplans.com I figure out the best days for each park and go from there. I can then figure out which days I want to eat at which restaurants and until the ADR's open up, I fine-tune my calendar.

Once the ADR's are done, it's mostly set. I did have a last minute ADR that I booked well after my 90-day window opened but I was able to get a decent time. (PSB at Norway)

I also changed my Sci-Fi Dine-In ADR 3 times because the first 2 times were not what I had wanted and after several days had passed, a few new times had opened up.

ADR time was actually rather exciting because this is the first time I was able to book everything online! :cool1:

Online ressies for WDW restaurants just started a very short time before my 90-day window and it was super easy to book everything I wanted. No snippy CM to speak to, no long-distance charges...just me and my computer (I had Disney music playing in the background for effect  :rotfl2:) and my printer :cloud9:

So, a few tweaks here and there and my itinerary was done!!

I mark down what park is planned for each day, ADR's (including ressie #'s) counter service meals I plan on visiting, parade times, hotel ressie #'s and any other important stuff I need during the day.

Then I print it out ...full-size for my WDW folder and a much smaller size for my fanny pack. I laminate it, round the corners so I don't stab myself with the darn thing  and voila!

I must say, when it's time to print and laminate, I get very excited. :dance3:

I mean, I have been staring at this dang calendar for almost 2 freaking years now wishing it was time to print and laminate ;)

And today is that day!!!! :woohoo:

Here's a photo of my small itinerary so you can see what I am talking 'bout :goodvibes

Important stuff has been blurred so don't try to wipe your screen in hopes of acquiring top-secret info people!

I know some of you were gonna try! :rolleyes1:rotfl2:

This is soooo neat! I love the idea. I am jealous! I have to walk around with a bunch of folded up papers in my backpack. And I am lovin' your suitcases!! I need to Mickey-fy (totally not a word) mine up!

My trip is 2 sleeps away (finally convinced DH to add on another night so my ticker is actually wrong!) Is it normal to be depressed and thinking that your Disney trip is almost over when you haven't even left yet??:headache::rolleyes: I am super excited though, and I'm telling myself that once I get home I can start planning another trip. :yay:

I love your little Mickeys. They are so cute. Maybe you can put things in Kira's case. Her clothes are little.

2 sleeps!!! How exciting :yay:

I totally understand. I also get a teeny bit depressed just before the trip, partially because I just know how fast it's going to pass and also because I have nothing left to plan! :guilty:

Your planning is so impressive :worship::worship: Someday I hope I can be that good. :goodvibes

Thanks :goodvibes

It's easy....

One part obsessive, one part anal, one part great software....mix it all together, add a whole lot of wasted spare time and then print everything out. Voila! :lmao:

I love your little Mickeys. They are so cute. Maybe you can put things in Kira's case. Her clothes are little.

Yes, her clothes are small but she has a lot of crap too! Diapers and wipies and sand toys. She has two gorgeous princess dresses that will take up a lot of space :scared:

Although on the way back we won't have the diapers, wipies and sand toys but I can only imagine all the crap I am going to buy her :rolleyes1 I am not a big shopper (Rob wears the shopping pants in this family ;)) but I sure like to shop for Kira :goodvibes:thumbsup2

I already know a few things I want to get her (and Dani too ) and I am not even there yet!!! :rotfl2:

Absolutely Wonderful

Just read through from page one. Sounds like it's going to be a great trip!

great pre-trippie...I am so impressed with your creative stuff...autograph book and buttons...etc. I pmed you with questions. But I had to post about how much I am enjoying your report!

Have a great trip!

Hi Susan!!! :wave2: Good to see you! How have you been?

Yeah, our next cruise will be on the Dream methinks ::yes:: Need something new :thumbsup2

We'll be ready then! Doing well... getting oldest ready for college. :scared1:

hey susan.:yay: remember me? little ol underdog/mikey?
good to see ya.:wizard:

Of course I remember you and Robin! How could I forget?

I love your Bobigator:thumbsup2

I also like your small carry card w/ schedules. I don't think I am that tallented but I do have a book and did make a restaurant schedule for our family of 8 trip at Thanksgiving... All kids have blackberry's now as well so I figure I can text daily schedules to them each morning. :rotfl:

Love the BOBigator (mine's all laminated already and ready to go), the Mickey stickers for the luggage (I keep starring at mine and want to stick them all over the place) and love, love, love the itinerary Cass. I'll be working on mine today but I'm afraid will be quite sparse compared to yours. :cool1:

If Rob needs any help with the shopping, I'm sure Karen and I can help out. I myself, love to spend money as long as it's someone elses!! :rotfl2:
