Kira's Countdown Calendar
------------------------
Ok, I just picked up the last part of her calendar so we are all ready!
So this is what I did.....
I made 35 little bags with my Cricut Expression (personal cutting machine
http://www.cricut.com/information/whatiscricut.aspx) and added numbers 1-35 with Disney characters on them. Inside I put little trinkets and treats in each one as well as some shiny Mickey stickers (same as the ones I used on the luggage).
Then I made a blank calendar (generic so it can be used over and over for each Disney trip

) and I got it printed at Staples in poster size 18x24 and then had it laminated too. It was a little pricey $28 but that's why I made it so we can use it again!
Each night after supper, she gets to open a bag and have the treats and then she takes the Mickey sticker and tries to match up the number that's on the bag with the number on the calendar.
A little bit of learning as well as some fun!

She opened #35 last night but we didn't have the calendar so she stuck the Mickey on today. Tonight after supper she gets to do #34
She absolutely LOVED the bags and all the little prezzies inside! She understands that she has to wait until after supper every night to open another one and since #34 is Mr. Incredible (her current fave movie!) she is VERY excited about tonight
Ok, here's some pics
Pics of the bags before I put the stuff inside of them.....
Some of the stuff that went inside
I used Disney stickers, Princess tattoos, Disney rings, beads and stuff for her crafts....I also got some bouncy balls and princess lip balm and some Hershey kisses and Reese's Pieces (her fave!)
Shiny Mickey stickers
The bags after they were all finished.
And here is the Calendar...
And here is the princess opening her first bag last night
And that's it!
The creation of the bags was a little time consuming but turned out great, was really cheap since I already have TONS of SB paper and already own a Cricut, which I barely use

and she loves them, so it was all worth it.
I will take a pic of her putting on a Mickey Sticker tonight, to give you an idea of how big the calendar is
