I am planning a larger family trip for next spring and will likely want to book some rooms on cash so we can spread out a bit more. To avoid a lot of calculations at meal time we are likely going to do the deluxe dining plan (has worked well for same group in the past as we do quite a few days with breakfast, skip lunch and signature dinner). Can I add the dining plan onto the cash nights of our reservations booked through MS and using the member discount as well as the nights booked on points? Thanks!

Yes, cash rooms booked through Member Services work the same as points rooms.

You may also want to price cash nights through CRO. They frequently have a better discount but to get the dining plan you have to buy a 1 day ticket.

thanks, I will book through MS for now, but keep my eye out for any new specials for spring through CRO!

If you book through CRO/DRC, you will have to follow their rules for getting dining - room at near rack rate, tickets for the entire party and the dining plan for the entire length of stay.

In addition to what's already posted, I would think the TIW would save you significant dollars over the DDP, esp for the signature plan. I don't see the simplicity being worth the extra costs involved but obviously you must decide for you and your group. Good luck.

They do sometimes offer the 40% room discount plus purchasing the dining plan at regular price. If you have an AP, you may get the AP rate if available plus purchase the dining plan, no additional ticket purchase required.

Wouldn't it make sense to rent points or get a transfer of points instead of paying cash for the rooms - just a thought.

And buy a Magic your Way ticket for each night of the stay.

The full price dining plan through CRO only requires a 1 day ticket, room can be discounted. Free dining requires a 2 day ticket plus rack rate (full price) room. If you have an annual pass, no additional ticket purchase is required, except for free dining.
