Cash Ressie for Oct

We have 9 nights reserved in a BW view studio for mid-Oct. Due to flight availability, we needed to add 2 more nights, a Fri and Sat. Called MS and waitlisted for all 3 views.

As an afterthought, I asked MS about booking the nights for cash. To my surprise, I was offered a choice of SV or PV (not BW view which I know cannot be booked for cash), either with a 25% member discount.

The conventional wisdom on these Boards is that the cash nights, esp. with the member discount, are only available if the rooms will not be used by members on points. I now wonder if this is true since the waitlist for those nights demonstrates that there is member interest to reserve them on points.

In the Member Handbook, page 15, it says that "Undeclared (or Developer) inventory may be reserved on a cash basis. These are the Vacations Homes built and owned by DVDI that have not been declared into the Condominium Association." At BWV, is this inventory that DVDI bought back thru ROFR? Is there other inventory that MS can reserve for cash ressies?

I am still hoping not to use my cash ressie because my waitlist for the nights on points comes thru, but I would like to understand this for the next ressie (where I would like to use cash for the weekend nights).

They may be nights turned over to CRO because of members trading out to other locations, DVC can occasionally do a "pull back" of those nights, but if they are nights that were traded by members, I see the need to get cash for them rather than points so that DVC gets the money to pay to the trade location.
