Cash reservations timeframe?

Is there any rhyme or reason to the cash availability through MS? I've tried calling a few times and the CM's always tell me to try again the next day and that it is constantly changing. The week I am looking for is in the end of March and during Spring Break but they seem optimistic that it could happen. There are a few days open for points during our dates but nothing is showing for cash yet. Is there any timeframe pattern like 60 days, 30 days, or just keep trying?

Probably best bet is 60 days for breakage. Works from both sides, so if there is public cash availability, it can push back to MS at that point for discounts too.

Not really. You just have to keep trying and sometimes they are never available.

Will I be able to see availability online on the hotel site if there is a chance of getting a cash reservation? I am going to keep trying but wondering if I can possibly narrow it down some so I don't waste a ton of time on hold with MS everyday

I have been under the impression that if you call DVC Member Services to book with cash, the resie is made from the DVC inventory, not the Disney inventory. But I have not confirmed that. When I wanted to pay with cash, I have gotten bigger discounts on disneyworld.com so I haven't tried booking through DVC Member Services. (Pre-COVID)
