I would prefer to pay cash for my drinks as I want them, rather than charge them back to my room. I will be with three friends and I hate the idea of splitting up the bill at the end of the cruise. I was told by someone that you had to use your room pass card and charge all your drink purchases, but I can't see that this should be an issue if you choose to use cash. can anyone confirm??

No cash is used on board the ship. You MUST charge all of your purchases to your room card. You can pay for the purchases in advance via cash credit to your room card if you choose. Each person in the room will have a seperate card. Your purchases charged to your room will be summarized by card -- and can be paid for seperately.

Attempting to clarify Jody's answer... you and each of your friends will charge your drinks to your room card. And each individual's room charges will be paid by the credit card each individual checked in with. So, no worries, mon!

There are two things you will want to bring cash for on the ship, if you will need to use them:
The Laundry Facilities
Female Necessities
You'll want quarters for both, although I noticed that there is a change machine in the laundry room.
We also bring cash to add to the tip envelopes. We charge the standard amounts early to avoid waiting in a long line at the last minute, then add extra cash for anyone who gave exceptional service.
