cash booking then DVC stay pass question

We are looking to go for 2 weeks next summer but only have enough points for 7 or 8 nights in a 2 bedroom. We are wondering if we can book through WDW uk for the first the 7 nights - therefore getting 7 days of free dining and 14 day pass for the price of a 7 day pass. question is would the 14 day pass still work when we switch to dvc point stay on the 2nd week?

Yes, your pass would still work as it would be valid for 14 days.
