Casey's Buns

Burger and chicken buns were the same? Same as in they were wheat or same as in they were on a white roll as they have been in the past?
I took that to mean the burger and chicken buns were also wheat.
Every place we had a hot dog or burger, it was a wheat bun.
i wonder if they will end up (like ever other new restaurant at WDW) making Casey's a hot dog stand with a contemporary asian flair.
:rotfl2:

Could there be any chance at all that maybe it was busy over the holidays and they ran out of regular buns and had to use wheat?!? :confused3 :confused3

Ughh..I've never even heard of wheat hot dog buns... gross

I eat healthy stuff all year long and dream of the goodies at WDW... I DON'T go on vacation to eat apple slices and wheat bread.

Oh, I just had a happy thought....
They can't make the corndog nuggets whole wheat! :woohoo: I'll stick with those.:cloud9:

This is really disconcerting to me as well. For the record, I almost never eat hot dogs (or bread all that often for that matter), but whenI do I want the good stuff! Its just crazy to try and make burgers and hot dogs health foods...Sorry, Mc d's lawsuits aside, you know what your getting when you reach for it!

I like wheat and white...it just depends on what I'm eating. Turkey...mmmm...wheat or some really beautiful wood-fired bread. Ham - it had better be white or I might as well throw it away. And there's no way I can eat something as trashy as bologna without mushy Wonder bread and French's mustard! I just can't stand that wheat bread sweet flavor combined with certain flavors. Blech, Yech, Phooey! And on a HOT DOG?!?! Are these people MAD?! What next, healthy-up the meat? I swear to the heavens, if I show up in May and all they offer is turkey weiners, we are going to have ourselves a good old-fashioned furter fracas.

For pete's sake, how's about letting us adults choose for ourselves? Sheesh.

Do you think a write in campaign about hot dog buns would be weird? ;)

I am curious if there is a sign posted somewhere in the place that states something like "We only use wheat buns" or "In an effort to make you meal more nutritious, our hotdogs are served on a wheat bun.".

Would be nice if they would offer a choice, but my question is- Did anyone do a survey that asked if people prefered wheat to white? I just can't imagine making such a drastic decision without carefully thinking of the impact. I would even pay more for the white bun just to make the hotdog taste better.

We need a confirmation to confirm or deny the wheat bun! Wheat on a hot dog- now that just is not right. Turkey dog maybe, all beef Casey dog NO! It might be back to Peco Bill's for us.

If I want to gain 10 pounds on my vacation eating Funnel Cake for Breakfast and a hot dog with fries for lunch, a mickey bar for a snack and a steak and potato for dinner without any veggies well darn it I am an American and I should be able to.:rolleyes1

You GO girl!

But I want to know what you're havin' for dessert after that honkin' steak!

Whether it's a permanent change or not, I still plan to have a Casey's hot dog next August. Who knows? Maybe I'll like it.

My understanding, from PP's on this thread, is that there are wheat buns EVERYWHERE. Even if you go to Pecos Bill's - you'll still get a wheat hamburger bun.

Again, a decision that works for me personally, but not one that should be arbitrarily made for everyone.

Oh no! Everywhere? Looks like we may go low carb at disney- oh wait is the funnel cake wheat now too? Please dear Lord say that isn't so.
I can get my fiber from the rice crispie treats I don't need no stinking wheat on my vacation.

(by the way I do actually eat only wheat at home- whole grain all the way but not on my hot dog!- well I don't eat hot dogs at home)

Guess I will be packing white burger buns and hot dog buns and carry them around with me on our next trip. Wheat... ugh! Stop taking away food choices!!!

Already was annoyed on the last trip with the kids meals that only offer Jell-o as a dessert since nobody in my family eats the stuff. How bad would it be to offer a choice of fruit, Jello, pudding or a cookie? :sad2:

And now the bread is being messed with?!?!? Are they going to start serving the ice cream in wheat cones?

Naaaaaah, stop your worryin' - they're gonna replace the ice cream with frozen tofu, and do away with the cones competely because we all know they're bad for us even if they DO pump them up with heart healthy omega-3's, and put the frozen tofu in biodegradable cups. That way they can go nutritious AND green at the same time!!:rotfl2:

I can definitely confirm the wheat buns at Casey's and Pecos Bills. It's what we eat anyway, so I didn't even notice the difference until I was done eating and DH pointed it out. We were there middle of December (12th-21st)
On a side note, my kids did have choices for dessert other than Jello when we were there in December.

I always thought Casey's was supposed to be like you were at the ballpark. I don't mind wheat, but I don't want to eat something not really high in nutrition like a HOT DOG on a wheat bun. Maybe if you're ordering a turkey dog, I could see that, but this is a bit much.

What next? Are they going to stuff a multi-vitamin down my throat before I can leave the resort in the morning?

Oh wait! But they still have the Corn dog nuggets? We can avoid the bun altogether.

This is an interesting thread. When we went to Casey's this past week, our total order included 5 of the hot dogs - when we got the order, 2 of the buns were white and 3 were wheat. It doesn't particularly matter to me - we usually have wheat bread at home anyway - so we didn't say anything. Odd that they would have mixed them like that though...this was last Friday. :confused3

Casey's hotdogs are my favorite counter service at MK, and I hope I can still get a white bun. On a lighter note, the title of this thread gave me quite a chuckle...;)

Those two white buns were probably the last white buns served at Casey's!!! You didn't eat them did you??

You could auction them off on eBay . . .

Just curious if anyone has contacted WDW about this to get an official answer? I am thinking I might have to voice my opinion on this matter.:surfweb:

Had the wheat bun myself a couple of weeks ago - covered it in cheese sauce, so I couldn't tell that it was wheat! ;)

But really, it was yucky and dry (hence the cheese)! Very sad...
