Casey's Buns

Never been to Casey's, but now I'm curious...growing up with charcoal grilled hot dogs and knowing the fantastic difference between these and steamed dogs, boiled dogs, roller dogs, etc...

How does Casey's cook them?

This is crazy! Now on top of all the other packing, I have to BYOB (buns)?!:scared1:

I hear ya! Now, I have to bring Pepsi, Sweet n low, and white bread hot dog buns! I'm going to have to rethink that Deluxe Dining Plan, seems like I'm bringing all my food :lmao: :lmao:

I think it's rather funny to hear you all complain. I can't tell you the number of times on this board I've gotten people irritated with me because I feel that they should offer more vegetarian and healthier choices. Everyone always says "oh but they're not forcing you to eat it...you could eat somewhere else, or offsite...so stop complaining." But when it happens to you...the story is a bit different now isn't it? I guess it's just one of those walk a mile in my shoes situation.

The more I read this thread, the angrier I'm getting. I can't believe that Casey's now has those nasty buns.

Does any one know where would be the best place to voice my dismay.

Below is the contact info for Disney. Please voice your opinion if you are upset about this change. If you wonder if it will make any difference, remember Garden Grill and how Disney changed the menu - there was a huge outcry - and then they changed it back (Not to exactly what it had been but pretty close). Not saying Disney will bring back the white buns to offer people a choice, but I certainly think it is worth a try!!

I am all for choices. I think there should be more fruit, veggies, etc... Again.. a CHOICE.

I sent an email too, thanking them for the healthy options (finally), but saying that some would prefer a choice.

Personally I am still happy with the healthy options, but they should be options - not mandated.

Maybe they're trying to find a new contract on white bread since Wonder Bread went out of business? And the only company who will give them a cheap enough bid are the Wheat Bread pushers?? :confused3

ETA - Whoops! Guess that was just here in Ca. So that would be a reason for DL to go wheat, but not you guys.

Carry on!

I sent an internal question from the Disney site. Not sure if I will ever hear a response, but it was several days ago and still nothing. I just wanted to know if we will EVER get white buns in the parks again. Hubby says he is bringing his own buns if they don't offer white. We have 7 more months, so we can only hope there will be a change.

Of those who have been recently and disliked the wheat bun.......have you gone back inside and complained? Unless people make their dissatisfaction known, the parks will continue to think everyone is actually eating and liking this change.

Every time I see this thread, the first thing that comes to mind is, "Why would someone start a thread about the rear end of Casey - Host of Disney Vacation Club Secrets Revealed?"

I told my wife I was gonna do the same thing. She's already annoyed enough with me since I insist on bringing sweet n' sour sauce into the parks for the chicken tenders, since all they have is barbecue. If things keep up like this, we're just gonna start bringing in our own picnic basket.

I could understand that it might be too confusing for the servers to have to give a choice between buns when they're trying to get the food out as quick as possible. Shouldn't each park have one or 2 CS (fast food), rests that serve only "healthy" options. Then, the people/families that really want to continue their healthy lifestyle on vacation don't have to suffer, and those looking to treat themselves on vacation can have their enjoyment too. It would be very interesting how these places would do- would they be busy and need to make more healthy resturaunts, or not have a good business?

Is there really a difference in taste between white and wheat buns? I can't taste a difference with the burgers and chicken sandwiches.

I can taste a difference, personally. If I liked wheat bread though I'd have no problem with the change, but I hate it.
