THs wondering which story the DT will argue in closing. They went so many directions! And, what happened to that story in the OS?

Oh that was just to be seen on camera. Probably some sort of bet. He wipes his face, quickly flashes the finger, and smiles. But you don't mess with Judge Perry and you don't mess with Judge Perry's courtroom. There ya go.

Absolutely playing to the camera, and he thought he was being really sly. Guess he found out that he wasn't nearly as "cute" as he thought he was. Good for the judge!

Does anybody know when the guy knew he was busted? Wonder whether it was after the jury left or whether a deputy quiety went over and stood beside him?

Kid should've pulled a Casey bird flipping move ... you know, wipe away a fake tear with your middle finger.

You're not giving this kid any credit! He's probably not as stupid as you think. I'm betting that this is another crazy looking for his 15 minutes of fame and some monetary benefits from this case. He'll be all over Inside Edition, Entertainment Tonight, etc. giving his "inside story" on why he did it, etc. and he'll be getting paid well for that, too.

ETA -- based on that video, he was totally doing it to get it on tv and not giving it to Ashton. He looks directly into the camera as he does it. Kid was well aware he was on tv and tried to pull this off. Granted, wrong thing to do, but the kid thought he could pull it off and be a "hero" to his buddies.

Darn I do not get to see all this stuff because I am working or in classes. I am a teacher and honestly when I see all the punks at my school get away with everything including pushing a teacher, it makes me giddy to see this kid wet his pants. I hope they put him in a cell with someone like the guys on Scared Straight.

See ... when you watch it on the replay, you see he's looking directly into the camera. Wanted to slide one by the censors.

He just got his 15 mins. plus of fame. Betcha he's scooped up by Entertainment Tonight/Inside Edition/whatever for the "real story" behind why he was flipping the bird. He'll be paid enough to cover all court costs and then some.

You know what really ticks me off about this "bird" incident? He doesn't even have a clue what he could have caused. He was just acting like some little frat boy trying to get his 15mins of fame. No matter how much most of us despise ICA, this is a death penalty case for gawds sake! Does he not get that somebody's life is on the line here. . .it's not a high school musical production! Yeah, kinda a serious matter here, Mr. A**hat! I bet if he would have caused a mistrial he would be crying for police protection, because he would have needed it. Just unimaginably STUPID!

He only makes $15000 a year as a server at a busy restaurant? He must not be very good at his job either.

He only REPORTS 15000 per year. Lets face it in Orlando in a large busy chain he makes a heck of a lot more than below the poverty level. Furthermore why doesn't he smarten himself up and get a real job. I am not demeaning sever but that is the type of job you do to get yourself someplace else unless you work in a high end white table cloth restaurant.

C'mon ... Casey gets away with everything. Someone will make an excuse or take the blame for her wiping her eye that way.

What a way to end the court day. I'm sure Jeff Ashton is used to criminals hating on him. It seemed like prosecution were amused by the turn of events at the end of the day. Some comic relief to their day.
