The commentators I am watching (a judge and a defense lawyer) are saying that the defense is simply being out-lawyered. They said that a very good defense attorney would be able to get this witness qualified as a witness and get these questions answered. They claim Sims is doing a horrible job, way too mousey, and an assertive, well qualified lawyer would not have any problem. They said that Cheney Mason would have been much more qualified in this situation.

So this guy is testifying about quality assurance, and Logan's resignation comes just two weeks after a panel of King County judges ruled that the state toxicology lab — one of the two labs overseen by Logan — engaged in "fraudulent and scientifically unacceptable" practices while preparing and analyzing breath tests used to prosecute suspected drunken drivers. The judges called for the suppression of the tests and laid much of the blame on Logan, finding he bore "a good deal of the responsibility for [the lab's] shortcomings."

So I guess he was a bargain to get for the defense team's case? Could the defense possibly have this guy up there if it's possible for the prosecution to come in and hammer him about his resignation from that other position? Lovely accent tho.

I think Simms would be better off doing a CD of lullabye songs, with that cooing voice of here.

Is it me or does Casey just look almost evil? It's just like she is staring at everything, blank with no emotion.

Honestly now that I am thinking about it, when they show George while he is watching the testimony, he looks much the same way. Now when he is talking and stuff he doesn't but when they show him in the courtroom watching he just looks so blank.

This may not be a very popular opinion but I am going to say it anyway.

I feel everyone is entitled to fair and competent representation and I am now of the belief that Casey is not getting that. Baez and Sims are not qualified to handle a case of this magnitude. I want Casey put away for life but this representation is going to be the death of the state. I truly believe there are grounds for a mistrial based on inappropriate representation. I hate that idea but these lawyers are not qualified. I have tried to laugh it off and laugh at their mistakes for the past few weeks but they are bumbling this process and that is not the way things are suppose to be done in the USA. As much as I despise what Casey did, she is entitled to fair representation and she is clearly not getting that.

I think everyone is fairly numb at this point, including me. But really, what is anyone supposed to do in a courtroom? It's like sitting in a very very long college lecture.

I think this witness is bored with his own testimony. Not like Vass, who was delighted to be able to talk about his rotting bodies!
