Maybe we can paint our new home this time. i'd like to see pink on the walls ;)

Bah... my husband only works half days on Fridays in the summer. I haven't been able to watch. How sad is it that I left early to get my daughter from work so I could listen in the van.

ohhhh snap

so if we told buy boy the sky was green he'd believe it

oh oh - someones gonna get a spanking

and i think it's ashton. he HAS to let the witness finish his answers

Bug boy: "I lost my train of thought....I don't know where I was going with that"

Gee ya think :lmao:

That is not sad at all....I make up errands to run throughout the day so I can listen on HLN on XM. I think my employees are figuring me out since this case is all I can talk about.

Baez was just cracking up when he mentioned Dr. Vass not being the right type of scientist.

I'd say she was lucky she didn't have to walk. :)

Jeff Ashton needs to ease up a bit. I actually am feeling sorry for the bug boy now. He has been hammered all day.

All of the attorneys look like small children being repremanded right now. HHJP is sick and tired of all of them right now.

Can the jury have a drink or two? Cause if I where on the jury I would need a nice big glass of wine after today.

I feel like I'm watching a different trial than most of you. I think this witness has brought in some very interesting information that at least puts doubt as to the length of time a body could have been in the trunk.

I feel like JA is not having a good day. He gets very uptight when things don't seem to be going his way. It seems like JA is trying to discredit this witness when his background in forensic is much better than the state's witness who did the air experiments.

As for bringing in new science, which way is it. JA can't bring in a new science (air experiments) yet want to throw out this new science. Either new science is acceptable or not.

In the end, I'm not sure why they are arguing about this. The defense admits that she died and Casey knew that she died. Seems like admitting that a body was in the trunk is not a big deal. The only thing I assume is that they want to say the body was not in the trunk very long. That does away with the idea that Casey drove around for days with Caylee's body. It would lend more credence to someone (possibly George), who had access to the car immediately after her death, put the body in the car and dumped it somewhere quickly. I can't see any other reason for pushing this line of questioning.

THANK YOU.

I'm just not in the mood today to get chewed on so I haven't posted about it.

I loved Jeff Ashton during cross. I think he did exactly what he needed to do. I think both sides are getting ridiculous at points now.

I also don't understand where this is going. Caylee died, nobody disputes that. Even if we say it was accidental, the defense is saying Casey panicked instead of reporting it. Why does it matter if she panicked and put the body in the trunk for a few days? Does it really take that much away from the defenses story? I really want to know what the whole story will be from the defenses point of view.

JB asks about report--W report doesnt say paper towels had adipocere on them--it says had a substance "like" adipocere

JB so thats your interpretation--W yes

JB these items can be found on other items like meat products--W yes

JB how long does it take for adipocere to develop and under what conditions

Objection

JB can you tell us how long does it take for adipocere to develop and under what conditions

Objection--JA now questioning

JA where do you get your information about adipocere--W from watching animal decompose

JA Ever tested teh substance to see if its adipocere--W my research is based on my experience

JA not what I asked you--W dont need to test it if someone tells you its adopecere

JA so you just take someones written word and have done no testing--W I didnt personally test

JB objects--SIDEBAR

BACK

JA asks jury to disregard as unresponsive
disregarded
JB objects
overruled

JB how long does it take to adopecere to form--W reduced oxygen buried bodies in cool restricted oxyegen area

JB whats speeds that up--W difficult to say would depend on insect activity (????????????)

JB when does it show up early-- W late

JB what stage would you say--W later stage of decomposition

JB garbage JA asked you to see you seen the photos from before (wet) and after---W yes

JB is it proper practice to alter evidence before you (missed this)

Objection--Sustained

JB so to show you evidence that was collected dried and sat in an evidence locker for 3 years isn't a true representation

W no

JB you never got to see the garbage in the "wet" state--W no

JB maggots also eat remains of food and bacteria from food--W yes

JB JA asked about a garbage bag being used as a barrier to the maggots--W yes

JB showing pics of garbage bags from trunk

JB so a trash bag isnt much of a detterent--W no

JB JA asked you about the stain--W yes

JB asking about his experiment and why he didnt use a blanket or bags--W didnt do for this case so if he had he would have tried to duplicate as close as possible to replicate the case

This witness has brought in information that has been easily challenged by Ashton. Ashton is objecting to the witness's testimony about evidence outside the realm of his expertise. It's not about JA being uptight about things not going "his way." Of course he's trying to discredit this witness (and did quite well, IMHO...oh, and the legal commentators)...Baez tries to discredit state witnesses, and JA tries to discredit defense witnesses. :confused3 JA got this witness to admit to some very different facts than his original testimony. He challenged the witness, who fumbled over his own supposed knowledge. Score (another) one for the prosecution.

He also completely validated the prosecution on cross. :confused3

Color me confused, but wouldn't you want to put an expert on who HAD replicated the same conditions? Because if the conditions aren't the same, then wouldn't the results be different?
