wow, I was unable to get on the boards last two days:eek:

had to change browsers to get on today! Of course I did not think of doing that the last two days :rotfl: definite sleep deprivation on my part.
Read thru all the updates ...I enjoy reading the comments and opinions here, very informative and interesting! thanks one and all:flower3:

I remember reading something way back when that the FBI could see an outline of the heart on the tape and had asked OCSO if they found any hearts at the dump site. OCSO found the heart sticker. By then the FBI had destroyed the residue when they were processing the tape for fingerprints. Which is why they sent it to the FBI chick who ended up getting her dna on it to see if she could bring up anything from where the residue had been.

How the heck did she get her DNA on that tape if she wore gloves and did everything "right"?

Are there no photos of the sticker outline on the duct tape? Even under that special light that they were talking about?

How much more could they have botched that?

Dna is in every cell of our body except our red blood cells--She could have dandruff that fell off her lab coat or a nose hair or eyelash etc. So the fact that her dna contaminated the evidence means she didn't do everything right.

There are no photos. Hopefully this will add a step to the order in which evidence is processed at Quantico. Visual inspection then photographs then fingerprinting then more photographs

The VSC couldn't get anything from the duct tape after it went thru the fingerprinting process.

The biggest physical evidence the state has and if the jurys were taken in by JB's confusing examination of the second witness it may not bolster the States case

what was the point of him showing up at the anthony's house yesterday?

did he want a reunion or something?

god - does everyone want their face on tv these days????

It seems like photos should have been taken of everything at the crime scene. It only goes to prove that procedures in real life don't necessarily mirror those we see on television. In real life, people make mistakes or get sloppy.

It sounds like it isn't normal procedure to take pictures first. I can't believe this is the first trial in the state of FL where pictures would have helped the prosecutions case. One would think they would have changed their procedures years ago. Ugh!

They picked up all that trash and didn't have anything examined except a piece of cardboard containing a heart shaped sticker. The defense is trying to say that it was selective processing of evidence. Why was the heart sticker not just trash? It was found 30 ft from the remains. There was trash closer to the remains that were not examined.

As for the heart sticker, the presence of a heart shape was reported to have been seen on the duct tape by one analyst. There were not photos taken of it on the duct tape. Later tests could not prove that it had been there. The defense is calling into question whether there was ever a shape on the duct tape and, if the sticker found was nothing more than additional trash.

Hmm... I hate to say it, but there's one for the defense.

Not necessarily. Although fascinating, sticker or no sticker, it doesn't exonerate his client.

Someone refresh my memory. Is there any DNA from the trunk beside the one piece of hair? I know there were quite a few people that testified that they smelled decomposition but what about actual DNA on the carpet?

No, but it does put a dent in some of the prosecution claims. That is what the defense is trying to do...punch enough holes so that the jury has reasonable doubt. Chip by chip. That is what the defense is supposed to do whether we like it or not.

just because casey said she was abused and some cop that they arent calling asked the fbi tocheck doesnt make it true

sounds like a lot of hearsay to me

I do think HoseA got some hits in today. How influential they will be, I don't know. They don"t seem like slam dunks to me.

Gosh, it was such a boring day it killed our thread. ;)

Maybe the only thing the jury will take away from today is how incredibly dull it was and how it was putting everyone to sleep.

Let's hope there is some personality in tomorrow's witnesses.

For real. I love how the prosecution didn't have to have many questions for them. Went quick.

Question about biology and evidence.
#1 how long does take for a body to decompose to the point where it begins to leak blood?

#2 where would it begin leaking and at what rate? I.e. Could Casey have kept checking the body of Caylee. I.e. Would it begin as spotting or would it gush out. Perhaps Casey noticed and immediately took care of moving her.

#3. I know when my kids get nosebleeds, they often get on clothing, bedding or carpet. My go to to clean it up is hydrogen peroxide or if that isn't available, I will use an Oxyclean solution. It cleans up all visual evidence. Is I possible that if that cleaning procedure were used by either Casey or George that no blood evidence would remain? Or is blood a permanent biological stain that doesn't go away completely?
