I think it was mostly Nancy Grace and the media who decided that Lee might be the father (Cay LEE, hey, makes for good ratings!), so the tests were run to shut down that rumor. But did they ever say who did request it?

I'm not sure what came out of today. No blood was found, but nobody ever said there was blood. Nobody's dna was on the tape except the lab person, but that would be expected after 6 months in a swamp on a skeleton. And the heart sticker was found somewhere away from the body, but was where other bones were found. They are so focused on the sticker and I don't see the reason.

I'm confused as to why the fact that Casey's DNA not being there is important. Aside from the skeleton, neither was Caylee's and no one is disputing those are her things, kwim? I also don't think that IF Casey's DNA was there, that wouldn't necessarily prove anything, either. It was her daughter and her daughters things, of course, her DNA would be on it. Today seemed like a bunch of hooey to me, that's all.

Layman's attempt: internal breakdown alongside skin color changes and the smell of rotting flesh as the skin breaks down...Chromatic period.... (no listed time for this but it would also depend in the environment and circumstances)

THEN the gaseous period---this is when the fluids leak, gasses expand the body and push fluids out...

Then a bunch of other gross stuff that I ain't reading.

But it would seem to me--depending on time schedules...these are two separate and distinct decomp periods. So..to me...it would seem plausible that when the stink issue occurred, that Casey could take care of the body before the leaking or before too much leaking explaining the absence of blood in the trunk.

It would seem the body farm guy can be brought back for testimony to explain that.

Your layman's attempt was pretty good. So, decomp thingy #1 was bodily fluids that were found, and decomp thingy #2 results in blood which wasn't found. Which makes sense because she was already in the woods at that point.

Personally, I don't see how that helps the defense - it only supports what the state said.

What I got from today's testimony is that nobody requested paternity - it was figured out in the course of running DNA testing on Caylee's bones and matching with family. Which is why Baez could eventually get that out, if he asked the witness correctly.

Hey folks, haven't really caught up on the thread but I hope everyone is doing ok. This trial is making me crazy. You listen to the experts and each one of them has a different opinion. The defense did well, the state did better, the state hasn't proved anything, the defense has backed themselves into a corner, the state , the defense, the state, the defense..... UGH! One thing is certain, NO ONE knows what the jury is thinking and that makes me loony!

I've learned more about lying, bodily fluids, trash/garbage, body decomposition (thanks Lisa LOL), laws and trials to last me 3 lifetimes.

We'll see what tomorrow brings!

No, but it does put a dent in some of the prosecution claims. That is what the defense is trying to do...punch enough holes so that the jury has reasonable doubt. Chip by chip. That is what the defense is supposed to do whether we like it or not.

That's what a good defense does. . .but you can't bring up alibis and then somehow not support them. It's true they don't have to prove anything, but they are making some wildly unsubstantiated accusations that they have no evidence to support. . .that won't sit lightly with the jury. It's like claiming your client couldn't have committed the crime they were accused of because they were at a restaurant. . .but then coming with no evidence that they were. I think the jury takes unsubstantiated theories with a grain of salt. I know I would.

Back from my 8 hour trek to/from CT to see my DD's ultrasound AND THEY DIDN'T DO ONE TODAY. Aaaarrgghhhh! But she (and I) did hear the heartbeat for the first time. Next appt, a major ultrasound and probably gender determination, but I won't go if her DH can. Oh well...I'll settle for pictures.

Me too! What's funny is yesterday my mom called me and mentioned offhand, "Oh, I heard the Casey Anthony trial started." Ya think?????????

At my DS's HS graduation, I ran into a classmate's mom who I've been meaning to get together with for breakfast, and she said "let's do that soon!" and I told her "Well, OK...after the Casey Anthony trial. " She had NO idea about the case, NADA. Just as well we don't get together now, because I'd tell her all about it.

Gosh, it was such a boring day it killed our thread.

I was so worried it would hit 250 pages and get closed while I was gone for 8 hours, that I jumped the gun and started thread 3. Haven't checked to see if anyone is posting on it yet...hope not.

But the jury won't appreciate a bombshell of a story in an opening statement that cannot be backed up. Part of them poking holes will have to include evidence of some kind for that. It is simply human nature and while Casey is protected by the constitution from having to testify and incriminate herself--her documented lies will bite her in the butt if there is no proof or logical explanation for "her side".

The key to the fifth is she doesn't have to incriminate herself--but throwing out those wild accusations is incriminating others and the constitution won't save her.

Update on DS accident: Lots of x-rays but no broken bones thank goodness. He's a knot on his head, chest is sore from the airbag going off and his knee is bruised and swollen. He's going to be sore tomorrow.

He said he was going north, had the light, and a driver going south just turned left in front of him. It's up to the insurance company but it really looks like his car is totalled. It's pretty bad. He loved that car too.

Glad it wasn't worse, but that stinks. Hope he gets through tomorrow OK and then feels better each day. Sorry about the car too. Poor guy!

One thing is certain, NO ONE knows what the jury is thinking and that makes me loony!

If you haven't heard the latest weird item, and I haven't seen this info from the show verified anywhere yet, but I read on WS that a TH on Dr Drew said that Belvin Perry prosecuted Vasco Thompson during his time as a prosecutor

NO WONDER the Defense wants him in there. IF verified, what happens then?
What are the odds of this happening in this particular trial

Also Vasco's new attorney is Matt Morgan - is he the son of John Morgan who is representing the "real" Zenaida G?

I swear this whole case gets more unbelievable by the day

A couple of questions. Cindy said she noticed one of Caylee's teddy bears missing, was it found at the scene?

I don't think so, but it was the one that Cindy was sleeping with while Caylee was gone, and she couldn't figure out why someone would come in and take it since it was her only comfort.

It's HM's June 16 timeline, the day Caylee is supposed to have drowned per the defense "Early morning hours the exact time is not known...it could have been early afternoon...early morning...actually it was the early morning hours".

KC tells GA she has already spoken with CA about it.

Some time during the day some one creates a myspace account for “zenaida” with a picture of Dora the Explorer dancing doll, location Miami, FL, and sign Pisces with birthdate 2/19 (KC is a Pisces with DOB 3/19).

From ping map produced by Websleuths for KC’s cell phone activity on 06/16/08, it appears KC remained in the area of the Anthony home/LA home/location where remains would be found until approximately 4:15 pm (Pings 1-21). She then appears to have spent the rest of the day at TL’s apartment (Pings 22-28).

So according to this timeline... when is the death likely to have taken place?...Also how was she spotted at walmart at noon if GA says she left at 12.50pm?...How could she have been at walmrt if the cell pings say she never left the home area till 4.15pm?

Most bazaar thing ever and excuse me for not know the guys name but, the guy that posted bail for KC that wears the cowboy hat said that the police knew where the body was the almost entire time. They had listened in on a conversation between KC and her attorney which was illegal so couldnt do anything about it and I think he implied thats where Kronk comes in. Totally weird, Dr. Drew wasn't buying it.

Exactly. Baez was very specific too and didn't leave himself a lot of room to adjust and manuever after hearing the State's case. He's backed himself into a corner and if he doesn't produce something to back up his claims, he jury will lose trust in what he says.

Belle, Im so glad he is ok!

That definitely reduces the time needed for decay! Here in Florida, roadkill seldom gets run over more than once. The vultures are so fast! They pull it to the side of the road and it is gone within a few minutes. Very efficient system!

Note to self. Do not lay on the road after an accident!
