I lead a very sad life.

I saw the Judge this morning outside of my office at the ATM. I was all, "OMG IT'S THE JUDGE!! IT'S THE JUDGE!!!!!!" to my husband, who basically told me it was no big deal. I told him I so wanted to yell, "WOOO!! GO JUDGE! YOU ROCK!!!" since I love how he is always shutting Baez down, but then I was worried he'd be all mad....

Anyways, it was sad I was so excited to see this guy.

If you lead a sad life getting that excited, what's my life when I announce to my DH tonight "OMG, Dr.Girlfriend saw Judge Perry!" Talk about someone trying to process what they just heard. LOL

Can anyone tell me what is the general consensus on Lee Anthony? Is he a positive or negative figure in this case?

I watched the highlights last night.

Both JVM and NG focused only on Cindy's testimony.

(side bar--the conflict that mother had during this whole ordeal *would* make a compelling story)

Did the state redirect after Jose's cross examine? Specifically regarding George's so-called un-involvement in the 911 call?



I agree with the opinions here that if he did just show up, he would not have any idea what is going on nor have the time to process it.


I know that I go into immediate busy body mode, so if I just arrived home I would be all trying to figure it out if I found a hysterical family member on the phone.

My husband though--you would have to tell him the story several times before he got it--if he just walked into it and was not hearing the events that let up to the moment of hysteria.

On another note, Im still trying to understand now what this big blunder of Baez' was and how this opens the door for the prosecution to use the felonies that Casey was charged with. Something about Baez introducing or asking about who Casey said was the father. I wish I was more legally literate!

I also see that the Judge told the prosecution to be careful about it. Well, they will have a hearing on this motion this morning, lets see if I learn anything!

8:30 is typically for motions.

Perhaps he thinks if he stalls, he will prevent it from going through.

But then again, I wonder--if it is uncontested, will that strategy backfire and the motion is granted anyway.

I don't know why, but Baez asked Casey during a deposition (I think) regarding the fraud charges who the father was (??) and the prosecution wants (or wanted...not sure after this morning's hearing) to bring up what was said about paternity in this case, but they're not supposed to be bringing up the fraud charges, so how would they bring up one without the other. I think.

I wonder about her regularly drugging caylee because as other posters have pointed out, caylee didn't seem drugged. She seemed very active & verbal, and I would think her cognitive development would be impaired if she endured long term drug use. As verbal as she was, I would think she would have said something about the tape, not that she would know it was wrong, just mention something about.

I agree, it is doubtful that Casey was drugging her for any great length of time. People believe that she was drugging her and putting her in a trunk, while she went and partied and Casey somehow managed to get the dosing just right for the amount of time it would take her to go out, party, meet her new lover, get her groove on, get dressed and get back to Caylee all before she woke up. I don't buy it. Caylee would have some sort of cognitive memory of this plus where would she go to put her in the trunk and take her out without witnesses.

OK, looks like the State has backed off for now as it could give the defense a reason for appeal if convicted.

From what I understood (and that's a stretch) , if a defendant's statement comes in through hearsay, introduced by the defense (such as the statement that Casey said the father was Erik Baker when Baez asked Cindy), and it is presented as true, then the prosecution has a right to impeach this witness. This witness being Casey (as she is the one who claimed it). Since they could impeach, the State could then introduce evidence to show she is a liar, hence, the fraud charges for stealing money and checks.

Now, if the defense brought in that statement but does NOT say that is is true, but is just another example of a lie, then this does not apply.

SO, the state is backing off as apparently, no one is claiming that the statement that Baker is the father is true.

Was that clear? Cause I don't know if even I completely understood LOL!

Does Baez have body guards? If so how is he paying for them since he says his client is indigent? Seems to me you have better things to spend your money on. No one else comes in with a body guard.
