Casey Anthony NOT GUILTY & Sentencing Thread 6

Yep because HHBP did the math I did and knew she was as free as a bird so he choose to send an email to let the public know versus saying it in open court which would've caused a riot.

This way they can sneak her out and noone is the wiser

My math is below.

Why are the check fraud convictions overlapping with the murder indictment in terms of her new sentencing?

I wonder if Baez now regrets the opening statement of she was not missing? As this may open a whole lot of canned worms for lawsuits. The state, Tim Miller and maybe more.

My thoughts ... Casey is mad that Mommy and Daddy said she can't come home. (Although I wonder if they said that for media reasons and to get the media off their backs and away from their home). Remember ... Casey cares only about Casey. She only "wants" other people when she can benefit from them. She doesn't care about Cindy or George or Lee unless she's getting something from them (inc. lies on the stand). She's not getting the security of a home from them, so she will ignore them.

I think Cindy is the type that will always be there for Casey. And I think she's trying to let Casey know that she's there and cares and all that other stuff.

Cindy hasn't written Casey off. She's an enabler and will continue to enable Casey in whatever way she can, I'm sure. It wouldn't surprise me, though, if GA and LA have entirely written Casey off.

I wonder if Cindy realizes that she's losing her daughter anyway? It might not be to the prison system ... but my guess is that Casey has used her parents for all they can give her, so she's going to move on to some other patsy.

ITA ... I also think that Casey is continuing her "I have no family because they are terrible people & I'm all alone - boohoo" performance for the benefit of her defense team ... I think she has them all wrapped around her little finger now too and she will use them until there's nothing else to get out of them and then, as you said, move on to her next patsy ...

I believed, the lies were felonies. I was surprised, that wasn't the case. Now, it's being reported, they could have been charged, as felonies. She lied in a case, where possible charges, were a capital offense. This makes her false statements, felonies in the state of Florida. The prosecution chose to charge her with misdemeanors.
I believe, beyond a reasonable doubt ;), that if the jury had felony charges to consider they would have worried about convicting her of something that could have big punishments, when they did not in fact KNOW she lied. I mean, she DID come from a dysfunctional family, so there ya go! Did they really PROVE that she MEANT to lie?

Judging by the ridiculousness of the jurors' statements, I think I'm on target.

i think the "good behaviour" clause should be removed from it - not just KC but for everyone.

good for you for armed robbery, rape, assault, child abuse, and acting like a good little boy or girl while you're in jail and you get out early???

what the hell is that all about - who gives a s if you're good while in jail - that doesn't mean you didn't do the crime so what differences does it make

pisses me off when i hear people get out early for good behaviour

I have a hard time believing these 12 have much brain matter at all. I 6 of them thought manslaughter how and why were they so easily swayed.

Some think it's offensive to question the jury but to me it just as offensive to pretend they are thoughtful thinkers just because they sat on a jury

I don't think it is offensive to question the jury's verdict, but it is offensive to condemn the jury when you have absolutely no idea what went on in there. You have called them stupid, lazy, unthinking and easily swayed. You contend they were not thorough and didn't take their job seriously just because you don't like the answer they came up with.

No wonder people don't want to serve on juries.

The only person you have to blame here is Casey.

"Because all your charges get added together and all the sentences and you do one bid for all of them"

Per DH who is a Corrections Specialist--LOL as if the "bid" didn't give it away

I was thinking the same thing ... however, in the end it worked to get an aquittal, which makes it all worth it and subsequently, nothing else really matters ...

So guys, what can I do with my life now? I am serious. Before this trial started, I was on a path to find a new direction. My kids are teens and I just don't need to do as much for them anymore. The oldest will be able to drive next month so my taxi service needs will be reduced greatly. I have been questioning what I want to do with the next phase of my life.

This trial has really peaked my interest. I have always been interested in things relating to the law, police work, etc but I certainly have no desire to be a police officer or lawyer. At my age, I don't have the time or patience to pursue that.

I love the work Project Innocence does to free people who are truly innocent but they don't need volunteers in my area.

Is there anywhere I can volunteer that would allow me to help a child receive justice? I want to change the direction of my life and I didn't really know what I wanted to do before the trial. Now I feel like I want to do something that could, in some way, help a child in a situation like Caylee. At the press conference, they said there are 11 other pending child murders just in Orlando. There are more Caylees out there but I don't know how I could help. Any ideas, thoughts, websites, etc. you can point me to would be greatly appreciated.

I understand where you're coming from & it is beyond maddening so-called "good behavior" merits such leniency.

If the public realized anywhere near the reality of the relationship between sentence & actual time served, construction jobs would be plentiful to build all of the new correctional facilities necessary to house all of the criminals.

Crowded Jails is the reason for it, I think.

I think so, too. And she wasn't convicted of a crime that would cause us to be concerned about the public's safety.

I wonder if she will be on probation if she is released, and what will be the terms of her probation.

Tim Miller volunteered...don't think he has a case.

She admitted lying, not a far reach for conviction

Check with your Department of Human Services or whatever your local equivalent is. It may be that you can put your time to very effective use with children who have had to be removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect & are awaiting the resolution of their parents' issues in the juvenile court system. They'll probably be looking for you to foster, but I'm sure they can point you in a direction that can enable you to assist the kids in other ways.

ITA with this! Funny how a rapist/robber/etc. can be a good prisoner when he/she knows that good behavior gets you out early. Ridiculous.

oh i know - i just think it's crazy. you get 12 months and only do half to 2/3's because for a short amount of time you watch your p's and q's and when you get out chances are you'll go back to your same old same old and end up back in again.

there's no cost savings there when they have to repeat trials for repeat offenders

What I heard on one of these shows (:confused3 they're all running together at this point) is that Casey did not have a contract with Tim Miller and Equusearch, and actually it was Cindy who called him. :confused3 For what it's worth.

I think I mentioned on one of these threads...there was a guy in MA I think who was convicted of using a hammer to murder a woman. He got out early for good behavior. Within a short period of time, he murdered another woman with a hammer. I guess he was so "good" in prison because he didn't have A WOMAN AND A HAMMER. :confused3 I guess I understand where "good behavior" is an incentive in prison and should be rewarded, but sometimes it's just disturbing who gets let out early.

A lot of us thought the jurors were ignorant in their deliberations, based on no conviction on lesser charges and the lack of time devoted to deliberations. Then some of them spoke and proved us right.

Ah...Vinnie Politan just pointed out that there were protested outside the courthouse with signs...AS IS THEIR RIGHT. Casey and the jurors aren't the only ones with rights here.
