Court papers show #CaseyAnthony given 1043 days credit for time served. Still trying to determine release date.by bobkealing via twitter 10:05 AM

No use determining it just open the front door for her

I have a hard time believing these 12 have much brain matter at all. I 6 of them thought manslaughter how and why were they so easily swayed.

Some think it's offensive to question the jury but to me it just as offensive to pretend they are thoughtful thinkers just because they sat on a jury

I think only highly educated white male landowners should serve on juries. :stir:

I doubt that KC called Tim Miller to come and search. I am not sure the basis for a case.

Hopefully the state will mount a suit.

I believe, beyond a reasonable doubt ;), that if the jury had felony charges to consider they would have worried about convicting her of something that could have big punishments, when they did not in fact KNOW she lied. I mean, she DID come from a dysfunctional family, so there ya go! Did they really PROVE that she MEANT to lie?

Judging by the ridiculousness of the jurors' statements, I think I'm on target.

^ This.

She lied but they don't punish her for the lies??? I would hate to know what kind of parent this crew makes.

Parent:Why are you all wet and muddy? I told you not to go outside in the rain
Kid: I didn't go outside.
Parent: How did you get all wet muddy?
Kid: Huh?
Parent: Want some milk and cookies?

i think the "good behaviour" clause should be removed from it - not just KC but for everyone.

good for you for armed robbery, rape, assault, child abuse, and acting like a good little boy or girl while you're in jail and you get out early???

what the hell is that all about - who gives a s if you're good while in jail - that doesn't mean you didn't do the crime so what differences does it make

pisses me off when i hear people get out early for good behaviour

It is incredibly frustrating!!! Jails are overcrowded because we have too many criminals , people do not want tax increases to pay for jails so, criminals go free. The Mayor of my city was on the news this morning begging parents to be active in their kid's education, volunteer at the schools, join the PTA. I think it has to start there in the schools, the homes with children. People being accountable so we produce less criminals to start. Just my 2 cents.

No wonder people don't want to serve on juries.

Oh, please ... people don't want to serve on juries because they don't want to give of their time, don't want the hassle, inconvenience, etc. It has nothing to do with getting "beat up" on message boards since most cases people serve jury duty for aren't publicized like this one.

You don't see or hear of low profile juries getting beaten up on line and in the news. And how many high profile cases, broadcast on national tv who catch loads of attention do you see?

I have seen, many times on this board alone, people grousing about jury duty and asking how to get out of it. "I have classes, I have work, I have this, I have that." it's not because they feel that people are going to beat them up and chastise them. Especially on a case that will not generate any media attention on a national level.

You sound so shocked that this jury is taking a beating. The OJ jury took a beating, too. If the verdict is an unpopular one, a jury is going to take the beating since they're the ones that came up with the verdict.

So guys, what can I do with my life now? I am serious. Before this trial started, I was on a path to find a new direction. My kids are teens and I just don't need to do as much for them anymore. The oldest will be able to drive next month so my taxi service needs will be reduced greatly. I have been questioning what I want to do with the next phase of my life.

This trial has really peaked my interest. I have always been interested in things relating to the law, police work, etc but I certainly have no desire to be a police officer or lawyer. At my age, I don't have the time or patience to pursue that.

I love the work Project Innocence does to free people who are truly innocent but they don't need volunteers in my area.

Is there anywhere I can volunteer that would allow me to help a child receive justice? I want to change the direction of my life and I didn't really know what I wanted to do before the trial. Now I feel like I want to do something that could, in some way, help a child in a situation like Caylee. At the press conference, they said there are 11 other pending child murders just in Orlando. There are more Caylees out there but I don't know how I could help. Any ideas, thoughts, websites, etc. you can point me to would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like you should become a GUARDIAN AD LITEM. Google it. Sounds perfect for you.

Ok I messed up HHBP gave her 1043 days for time served which is the same amount of time I came up with a couple of pages ago---Lets see if he gets the same 576 for good behavior

Another sidebar ;) ...

Baez received a police escort, including mounted police, to the courthouse this morning ... he also drove into a different entrance ... I guess he's an official Rock Star now :cool2: ... ;)

oh i know - i just think it's crazy. you get 12 months and only do half to 2/3's because for a short amount of time you watch your p's and q's and when you get out chances are you'll go back to your same old same old and end up back in again.

there's no cost savings there when they have to repeat trials for repeat offenders

Don't even get me started on repeat offenders. Habitual seconds, thirds, fourths, etc., etc. are almost guaranteed to be dismissed in any plea agreements. In six years I absolutely cannot recall a single case where someone has been sentenced to a habitual charge -- and trust me, that would be a memorable sentencing.

#CaseyAnthony court docs: Ordered to start paying court costs in $20 monthly installments starting 2-15-12. So far she owes $4618.00 by bobkealing via twitter 10:11 AM

Check with your Department of Human Services or whatever your local equivalent is. It may be that you can put your time to very effective use with children who have had to be removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect & are awaiting the resolution of their parents' issues in the juvenile court system. They'll probably be looking for you to foster, but I'm sure they can point you in a direction that can enable you to assist the kids in other ways.

And see if your area has a GAL (guardian ad litem) program. You can get information from the local courts. Here is a link from the state of Florida's prgram.

My DDs' school principal just retired and she is planning on working with the GAL program in our state.

I don't think it is offensive to question the jury's verdict, but it is offensive to condemn the jury when you have absolutely no idea what went on in there. You have called them stupid, lazy, unthinking and easily swayed. You contend they were not thorough and didn't take their job seriously just because you don't like the answer they came up with.

No wonder people don't want to serve on juries.

The only person you have to blame here is Casey.

You really just typed that?

They didn't blame her!

We know what went on in there, why pretend we didn't? It's not a top secret mission. We know everthing they knew. In a very short time those who claim to have thought guilt were talked out of it.

Isn't it just ridiculous? Good behavior should be taken right off the block. You did the crime, you do the time as given.

I would start small, Try Boys or Girls club. a women crisis center

Thanks everyone! I did briefly look into the GAL program before the trial started but got so wrapped up in this that I put off looking seriously at it. I will research it today. My only fear is that I would be working directly with the children. I was hoping to do more behind the scenes type work. I am not sure how I will handle it if I get to know a precious child personally and the court forces that child back into the home of their drug crazed mother who then kills the child. While it would be difficult if I didn't know the child personally (just look at this case) I am not sure I would be able to sleep at night if I knew the child.

Actually he was asked to come. He doesn't just show up..he has to be invited.
True, but he was invited by Cindy. Maybe he should go after Cindy. Altho, it was based on information by Casey. Who knows. It's frustrating tho to see the lack of responsibility for actions all around this case.

I like this idea, as well. Before I had kids, I volunteered with Big Brothers/Big Sisters. They don't have a branch where I live now but we do have a crisis center.

Point taken. People don't already want to serve on juries. Is this situation going to encourage people to do it?

I am not surprised that the jury is taking such a beating. I know the verdict is unpopular, although their duty was not to deliver a verdict that would make the majority happy. It's justice - not majority rules.

I am however disgusted that so many insults are being slung at them based on a couple of sound bites on the news and because people didn't like their decision. And I am not just talking about those of you who are flinging around insults on the DIS.

It's ok to be confused and to not understand how they decided the way they did. And they might just tell us why if we stopped insulting and threatening them long enough to give them a chance. I would personally really like to know what was going through their minds.
