Casey Anthony NOT GUILTY & Sentencing Thread 6

As much as "think" she did it, I would not call the jurors idiots. They followed the letter of the law, like it or not.Did anyone notice how she started playing with her hair when Baez came into the court? She got all flirty :sad2::sad2: I wonder where she will be when she is released :rolleyes1

I agree. Irregardless of feelings, the jurors did what they were assigned to do. I find it interesting that all 12 were unanimous in the decision. In addition, the one alternate that spoke indicated that the 5 alternates felt the same way. That's 17 people of one mind. I think that if there is blame for the outcome, it lies not with the jurors, but with the prosecution who put together a very weak case.

:scared1: I clicked on that link to the juror's mug shot. Now the ad at the bottom of my screen is filled with scary looking people's mugs & find the criminal stuff!!!! :lmao:

How do you get public records for people. I was trying to find stuff out and all I could ever find was I had to pay for them. Where do you look this stuff up?

Has anyone confirmed that the mugshot is really juror #3, it looks like a totally different person to me. Juror #3 looks like she has brown eyes and not blue, and she has a very prominent jawline and the mugshot looks like a narrow jawline. Anyone else notice this too???

He is Counting the time served for check fraud? That doesn't seem very fair. I would think that the day she got that sentence, the jail calendar started over.

Phooey!

Well now she has time for writing her fictional memoir without the distraction of the jet set life.

I think it may be something like, figure out what time she spent in jail before the check convictions and time after that time was served? Who knows.

I agree!!! MAybe it's time for juries to have a court clerk type person to "guide" them in their deliberations. Not tell them how to vote. Just guide them thru.

Here's the thing though, the jury could have asked the Judge at anytime during deliberations to re-explain anything to them that they may not have understood ... that is what frustrates me - they didn't ask any questions or to review ANYTHING during deliberations ...

You have to go to the actual county website. Casey's mugshot was new on Tuesday night and it no longer reflected the murder charges.

She probably already had Tony Lazarro's phone number and was all ready to call him as soon as she walked out today. Aww, too bad. Now her party plans for tonight won't take place. But seriously, I wonder if she is delusional enough to think that when she gets out, that he would be waiting for her.:confused3

I hope he has enough brain cells to not answer that call!

If Tony Lazarro were smart, he has a new phone number, deleted his facebook account, and has moved to another state.

ETA - we all know Casey doesn't live in the real world ... of course she's convinced that Tony's waiting for her at his house, with roses all over, candles burning, champagne on ice, and a marriage proposal with a huge shiny diamond ring ready to go.

I

At one point in deliberations it was 6 - 6 for manslaughter. :sad2:

I have a hard time believing these 12 have much brain matter at all. I 6 of them thought manslaughter how and why were they so easily swayed.

Some think it's offensive to question the jury but to me it just as offensive to pretend they are thoughtful thinkers just because they sat on a jury

I am understanding why they didn't get first degree murder but it seems to ME that there was enough evidence for manslaughter. I read what juror #2 said and he seemed sincere to me. It breaks my heart that they were 6 to 6 for manslaughter earlier Tuesday. #2 was the last juror to hold out for guilty.

I did not care for Jennifer Ford (#3). I felt she had an attitude and had a bit of a know it all. I feel she could have been a bully type figure in the jury.

My supervisor at work said she wasn't surprised by the verdict. She had been on a jury and said you have to go by the evidence. I still think there was enough to convict of manslaughter.

My heart breaks for that beautiful baby, Caylee Marie. She was a very special little girl and it is clear she was loved. It's sad all of that love couldn't protect her.

Don't forget there were also 2 people that voted GUILTY for murder one the very first time they all rendered their vote. I will never understand how two people could feel it was murder 1 and yet they ended up voting NOT GUILTY on EVERY charge in the end.

I absolutely agree with that sign in front of the courthouse today:
Somewhere a village is missing 12 of its idiots.

THIS actually makes me happy. I hope he gets into a lot of trouble.

When exactly did they speak? They weren't supposed to be speaking about the trial AT ALL during the trial. Judge Perry made that VERY CLEAR each and every time they entered and left the courtroom. It seems quite clear that they didn't understand that simple instruction...no wonder they apparently didn't understand anything else. That one alternate said "we" this and "we" that...and was not part of the deliberations.

"Irregardless", the jury has spoken; as ignorant as they sound, the verdict is the verdict.

I agree whole heartedly.

I was surprised that she didn't get released today but then not surprised because I thought it would be too soon mostly for her safety. I am appalled at the defense team's actions during and after this trial - highly unprofessional and both Cheney and Baez should be reprimanded to the highest degree. I found it very funny that Casey was all dolled up today with nowhere to go....her life is going to be a living h*** after she is released and not the "beautiful" life she thinks it will be. Definitely wouldn't want to be in her shoes come Judgement Day!

Let's all remember little Caylee Marie Anthony and never let her stray from our thoughts and prayers for justice!!

I bet one of them was the retired nurse!! I wonder if the bullied her into saying not guilty so they could leave.

She been in jail for the murder charge.

She was arrested in August 08 (I believe) on the check charges. She went to trial for the check charges in January 2010. She got time served for that. So a year and a half.

I'm not sure when she was arrested on the murder charges. But I think that it should start from January 2010 when her trial for the check charges were finished.

ETA ---OK she was arrested for the murder in October 2008

Starting at her check fraud conviction, she has served almost 19 months. That is a little over 12 months of gain time based on the 12 day per month formula.

That gets us to 31 months of the sentence served. That leaves 17 months left that will dwindle to around a year if she is a good girl. (at 1 additional year of good behavior, she gains another 5 months).

Not sure how folks determined today, end if summer, or Christmas.

But that is what my shady jail math worked out.:rotfl:

Ok my research turned this up

Final arrest for the check charges was September 2008. She pled guilty in January 2010. A total of 16 months in jail so she was given time served and probation.

She was arrested October 2008 for the murder charges. Up until this month she has served 2 years 9 months((35 months))

Today she was sentenced to 4 years for the lies.

48 months for todays sentence minus 35 months she's already done leaves a difference of 13 months.

I read that "gain time" is equal to 12 days per month. So if that's true that means that she has 576 days coming to her---So 1 year and 7 months time off for good behavior

13 months equals roughly 395 days//////576 for good behavior----Means she's out today
