Casey Anthony NOT GUILTY & Sentencing Thread 6

THANKS CG!

BTW WHAT relative in the family would EVER take her in. MUST be someone who has an ax to grind with her parents. OH and PS how is she going to get to Houston? OH Wait she can just steal more money from her GF's account.

Holy carp! Porn industry has standards! What is this world coming to!

"Hirsch -- who reached out to Anthony's lawyer yesterday in the hopes of landing a deal -- has now reversed course ... telling TMZ, "It has become obvious to us that Vivid fans, and people in general, want nothing to do with her and that includes a XXX movie."

Hirsch explains, "We were ready to make an offer to Casey to star in one of our feature films. It's clear to me now, however, that there has been an overwhelmingly negative response to our offer and so we've decided to withdraw it."

He adds, "We now believe that we underestimated the emotional response that people are having to the verdict. A movie starring Casey Anthony is not what people want to see."

That's sort of poetic justice....

WHAT????? The jurors voted NOT GUILTY and now THEY are sick to their stomachs? Am I reading that correctly?

I guess that meant they felt she was not innocent but not guilty of the charges set before them? I hope that is what it means or else I am beyond confused. It also goes totally against what the alternate juror said.

Not guilty of child abuse, check,
liar, check,
getting paid to say it? yup....

I don't feel sorry for them one bit. They could have found her guilty of aggravated manslaughter of a child if they thought the state didn't prove "murder." The jury has said they do not think Casey was responsible in the slightest for Caylee's death. IIRC, the mother who left her child at home alone, and the child was crushed to death by a dresser, was charged with aggravated manslaughter of a child.

They could have thought about a lot of things, apparently the winking juror was thinking for all of them.

I don't think your opinions are irrational. What set me off was a post I read on another thread that ripped into the prosecution. I didn't want to respond on that thread so I came here instead. I don't have a problem with anyone that disagrees with my opinion. I am simply trying to figure out how someone can clearly get away with, at minimum, knowing what happened to her child and not have to answer for it.

Everywhere I go I see people bashing the Prosecution, even on this thread, saying they should be fired.

I'm sorry I don't believe this guy at all. I don't believe George knew anything about Caylee being dead, I don't belieave he would have thrown her out like the daily trash

I think George felt Casey had done something. He knew what that smell in the trunk was, he then realized his granddaughter was missing, I'm sure he held out hope they would find her alive. I don't think Casey ever told either of them that Caylee was dead.... Being a grandparent you hold out hope.

I didn't have a problem with them not speaking after the verdict if they chose to be anonymous. I have a problem that the very next day they are out SELLING their story. That tells me a lot about them right there.

Selling to the highest bidder....

Maybe they should have taken a closer look IMO ...

I think you're right obviously....

Juror #3 said "If you cannot prove what the crime was, you cannot determine what the punishment should be."

Ummm ... deciding punishment wasn't their job!!! The judge never instructed them to consider punishment in the verdict!!

Love how juror #3 wanted to be on this case. Did she see $$ signs?

She was thinking about the punishment? Doesn't that go against judges instruction?

Glad she's already cashed in, anybody know how much ABC paid her?

I am 100% convinced they wanted a smoking gun. They wanted absolute solid proof that Casey did it. Something that tied her directly to it without a doubt. Maybe a photo of Casey holding chloroform up to Caylee's face? Maybe video of Caylee chugging a well labeled bottle of Xanax? :confused3

Thing is, if the prosecution had such clear-cut evidence, Casey would've been begging for a plea bargain!

I had a very strong feeling about that almost from the start... I just kept hoping I was wrong.

I have a couple of questions

first, anyone know where Casey will go.....Home with JB?

Did anyone else hear she said she wants another baby?

Anyone hear Ashton on the View...did he say anything of merit

Juror 3 said that they were sick with the verdict...why didn't they speak to the media and say that

If they find out the jurors acted inappropriately can they retry Casey?

I assume Baez will represent her in whatever offers come her way and he will take care of her housing in the interim, just a guess... I did hear Ashton, he doesn't second guess the case they put on, he obviously doesn't agree with the outcome and his retirement was already in the works but he put it on hold until he could conclude this case.

I don't think so actually. She was faced with clear cut evidence of her lying and she never admitted it. Not until Day 1 of the trial. Melich tried and it didn't work.

Just wondering do you think the first thing Casey will do when she gets out is go to the dump spot aka Calee's temporary grave site and leave a teddy bear or some flowers like so many a grieving parent might do? ME thinks there is a wet tee shirt contest calling much more loudly. OH WAIT MAYBE if she wins the wet tee shirt contest she will pay homage to Caylee by leaving her winning tee shirt. Honestly, I just cannot wrap my mind around this woman. It makes me so sick that she is going to be a celeb and make a ton of money while her parents are probably going to lose their house. Truly she is evil incarnate...and I am not a religious person.
Someone (commentator) asked someone (?? LOL) if they thought Casey would go to the site on Suburban Drive and they thought not. I wouldn't be surprised tho if she did...with Baez and Geraldo and a camera crew, complete with tears for her dear departed child.

They were wondering if she'd sneak out once released (like via a back door or with a decoy) or walk out the front door. They speculated that she wouldn't walk out the front door due to security issues. Someone stated that John Gotti walked out the front door and there were far more people who had it out for him for legit reasons!

So, will Casey get security guards? If so, who is paying for them?

Also ... has anyone said if Cindy will be faced with perjury charges?

I honestly don't care what she does, I don't want her on my TV screen, I don't want her on anything that comes into my house. That goes for the jurors and the DT. You can very well bet that the next time I hope to see her it's either in a Memorial or locked back up for a less heinous crime than her first that will yield her more time than her first.

Just a thought instead of going across the street and drinking champagne, it might have been a little better if the defense had gone to the dump site and paid some sort of respects to Caylee IF in fact they felt that it was justice for Caylee. IF they want to toast do it in private.

They shouldn't have been considering the punishment, but they would be ultimately responsible for giving one out. Sounds like jury didn't want to have someone's life in their hands when, for whatever reasons, they were unclear on the actual crime.

They all knew that, at the end they'd have someone's life in their hands. They were made aware of that when they were all asked if they could give the death penalty.

Also, they didn't have to give the death penalty. They could've asked for LWOP. There were lesser charges that could've been given. Death penalty was the highest charge.

Yes, they knew that. However, according to them, there wasn't enough evidence to do that. This jury didn't have enough evidence to convict.

What does it mean when you wink at someone in this instance? Flirting....not htis time , saying hi not this time .....everthing is okay ......YEP!

I love the quote from Nancy Grace, "Somewhere the devil is dancing tonight." I always says Casey looked like a demon or a gargoyle. Now I think we have our proof. :scared1:

I read about Baez ....Bikni salesman.....dead beat dad he is the new Superman fighting for "TRUTH JUSTICE AND THE AMERECAN WAY!"

I think Nancy Grace is guiltiy of irresponsible "shock" journalism, and this statement is a perfect example. And honestly, I would like to ask Nancy Grace why she thinks the Devil would care about an earthly non-conviction? If she truly believes in eternal damnation, then she believes the Devil will have his day with Casey anyway. She made the statement because she knew it'd get a reaction.

You'd think Nancy Grace would've learned her lesson when she had an innocent Duke lacrosse team tried and convicted before they ever even set foot in a court room.

Juror #3 - "if you cannot determine what the crime was, you can not decide what the punishment should be" ...

According to Vinnie Politan: "The jury should have never been considering "punishment" while they were determining the verdict ... the penalty or "punishment" phase would have been considered later ... if this was how the jury determined their verdict, it went against what the judge had instructed them to do" ...

Jury nullification. QED (quod est demonstratum).

Huge sigh.:sad1::sad1::sad1:

I have a question. How does one say " I think she's guilty but the prosecution didn't prove their case? Huh? Then why do you think she's guilty? Something convinced you, didn't it?.... Stupid!

Factual guilt is not the same thing as legal guilt. Just because you think someone did it does not mean that the state presented evidence to prove it beyond a reasonable doubt. Not stupid.

People keep bringing up "why did George drive that car with the smell of decomposition if his daughter and granddaughter were missing." But George and Cindy had been in touch with Casey, and Casey was telling them that Caylee was fine and here and there, etc. So I think that when he picked that car up...and he knew it had been there for some period of time (and therefore knew he had been in touch with Casey, and supposedly she and Caylee were fine), that he drove it home because AS USUAL they were trying to protect Casey. Wrong, yes. But I think they DID think that there might have been a dead body in the car, and they wanted to talk to her first to find out what they were up against...maybe hoping the car had been out of her possession. Because at that point, I think they knew Casey was very much a problem.

Exactly.:thumbsup2

And if I was to criticize the prosecution for anything it would be not exploring the family dynamic. Not going into the volatile family dynamic and the issues the A's had with Casey. But , in all honestly, the A's wouldn't have been cooperative and would have lied, so it probably wouldn't have helped. I mean Cindy testifing she had long hair? really?

I think Nancy Grace was basically saying that Casey is the one dancing tonight. I don't know if she meant the literal "devil".

I get the concept, I really do and I try. But, at the end of the day, one is convinced of something by some kind of fact. I don't feel she's guilty, I know it.

If you really believe something, SOMETHING convinced you, did it not? You just don't believe something on a whim. I struggle with this, its very contradictory , in my eyes.
