Casey Anthony NOT GUILTY & Sentencing Thread 6

WHAT????? The jurors voted NOT GUILTY and now THEY are sick to their stomachs? Am I reading that correctly?

I guess that meant they felt she was not innocent but not guilty of the charges set before them? I hope that is what it means or else I am beyond confused. It also goes totally against what the alternate juror said.

I think it means they did what they were told, followed the judges instructions and didn't like it.

I feel she probably killed her child and is mentally ill. BUT, I keep thinking about how sure everyone was that the Ramsey's, or one of them, killed Jon Benet. The prosecutors didn't charge them because they had this same kind of evidence-hearsay, inuendo, circumstantial-no DNA, no witnesses. Just sayin'. I'm not ready to say the jury made a mistake. I think the prosecutors did a less than great job.

It seems to me lot of this jury were out for money, I'm wondering if they thought they would get bigger money if they found her not gulity then gulity

That is exactly what I think. They were thinking about how the OJ jurors made out. If they found her guilty, who would want to talk to them? We all know she killed Caylee, it wouldn't be "new," they wouldn't be news. Now they are all over the news.

Holy carp! Porn industry has standards! What is this world coming to!

"Hirsch -- who reached out to Anthony's lawyer yesterday in the hopes of landing a deal -- has now reversed course ... telling TMZ, "It has become obvious to us that Vivid fans, and people in general, want nothing to do with her and that includes a XXX movie."

Hirsch explains, "We were ready to make an offer to Casey to star in one of our feature films. It's clear to me now, however, that there has been an overwhelmingly negative response to our offer and so we've decided to withdraw it."

He adds, "We now believe that we underestimated the emotional response that people are having to the verdict. A movie starring Casey Anthony is not what people want to see."
Who knew? LOL That's really hilarious, when you think about it.
Casey Jordan just said "I think if they [jury] really had integrity, they would've sat in those chairs and defended their decision and explained their logic to the masses who really wanted to understand."

I agree wholeheartedly!!! They chose not to do an interview en masse with the media and I think it would've helped with the outrage people are feeling.
I just love Casey Jordan. I really hope I get to see her speak someday, since she teaches not all that far from me.
According to Tim Miller, he said that he believes George, Cindy & Casey all knew Caylee was not missing and was already dead ... he also said that George pulled out a map and told Casey to just point where Caylee was ... Casey also never shed a tear & Cindy just kept blaming the Sheriff of trying to prove a case against Casey so he could get re-elected ... Tim wanted to pull his team out within 4 days of being there because he knew something was just not quite right with the family & their story, but the sherrif's department asked him to stay and he did ... Tim also said that when he arrived at the house and was waiting to meet George, he heard George say "where is this [fool] from Texas that I'm supposed to meet" - (I think Tim said "fool", but it may have been another word, but it was definitely derogatory towards Tim) ...
And didn't Baez tell him you can do anything you want, but you can't talk to my client? You've got a missing child, a mother who saw her last, and the search team can't talk to her? Ugh. :sad2:
I'm sorry I don't believe this guy at all. I don't believe George knew anything about Caylee being dead, I don't belieave he would have thrown her out like the daily trash
Not saying Cindy or George had anything to do with it, but that they knew something was very wrong with the situation and Caylee was probably dead.
I didn't have a problem with them not speaking after the verdict if they chose to be anonymous. I have a problem that the very next day they are out SELLING their story. That tells me a lot about them right there.
::yes::

Juror #3: "I did not say she was innocent. I said there was not enough evidence."

Maybe they should have taken a closer look IMO ...
I am 100% convinced they wanted a smoking gun. They wanted absolute solid proof that Casey did it. Something that tied her directly to it without a doubt. Maybe a photo of Casey holding chloroform up to Caylee's face? Maybe video of Caylee chugging a well labeled bottle of Xanax? :confused3

Thing is, if the prosecution had such clear-cut evidence, Casey would've been begging for a plea bargain!

I was away yesterday and saw the verdict when I was sitting in a restaurant in Conn! This is the first time I have had access to my computer so forgive me if I repeat or ask a question that has been asked.

Did anyone else hear Jean Casarez say that the day of closing argument rebuttle that one of the jurors winked at JB? I heard her say that. Also the alternate juror who spoke yesterday sounded as if he had DISCUSSED the case with the rest of the jurors. I could swear he said WE thought. How would he know what "WE" thought? He was not able to discuss anything b/c he was an alternate and he was never able to deliberate. I think the jury discussed this case ahead of time.
Again if others have said this I apologize but I am late to the party and when you miss a day you miss a lot.:rotfl:

WARNING: I NEED TO VENT! I know most of you on here will understand. I will ignore those of you who don't because I am not in the mood and don't want to be banned.

I am SICK AND TIRED of reading that the prosecution didn't do their job. When the hell does Casey take any of the blame? This isn't TV, folks. The state doesn't have access to all the high tech gadgets you see on CSI. You want them to pull DNA out of their *** when there wasn't any thanks to Casey.

If Caylee really drowned accidentally, how about Casey picks up the phone and calls 9-11 like any normal mother would do so the prosecution wouldn't have to prove a thing. There wouldn't be a waste of tax payers money and the police wouldn't have to hunt down imaginary people. Why can't people blame Casey for not calling 9-11 for an accidental drowning?

The prosecution gets blamed because there wasn't enough evidence. Why isn't Casey getting blamed for the lack of evidence? Her attorney admits that things snowballed. Her attorney admits that Casey was present when Caylee died. Why did she stuff her baby in plastic bags and throw her out in the woods for animals to chew on, 100 degree temperatures to bake in, and hurricanes and flood waters that would wash away all the evidence? How is it the prosecutions fault? Where exactly did you want them to get the DNA evidence from? The car that Cindy detailed down to the floor boards? The cover up after cover up that lead to months upon months of searching for imaginary people? Why isn't Casey to blame for any of this?

Casey has never had to take personal responsibility for a single action in her 25 years of life and, once again, she won't have to take any responsibility for the death of her child. :sad2:

:worship::worship: You are dead on!

I haven't paid enough attention to this case to make any judgment on this particular case, but you are incorrect.

In civil cases, jurors are supposed to make their decision based on a "preponderance of the evidence".

In criminal cases, the decision is to be made based on "proof beyond a reasonable doubt".

There is a big difference between a "preponderance of the evidence" and "proof beyond a reasonable doubt."

You are right. I think I have all these new legal terms all mixed up!
At least as far as the alternate is concerned, he bought the opening as fact, he didn't like how George interacted with Baez thus felt he had something to hide and the family was dysfunctional his mind was made up. End of story,
Which means the jury failed because opening statements are NOT evidence.

Just heard it ... and according to her the jurors were "sick to their stomachs" with their verdict ...

No, Tim Miller didn't say that George had anything to do with the disposing of the body, he just said that George & Cindy knew that Casey must have done something to Caylee and she was not just "missing" ...
That's what I get from what he is saying as well.

I am officially on Mare grandchild gender alert watch!!

I heard about the winking thing. why would any juror do that, I wish Judge Perry w ould have saw that

Juror #3 - "if you cannot determine what the crime was, you can not decide what the punishment should be" ...

According to Vinnie Politan: "The jury should have never been considering "punishment" while they were determining the verdict ... the penalty or "punishment" phase would have been considered later ... if this was how the jury determined their verdict, it went against what the judge had instructed them to do" ...

I wonder what Judge Perry think of this crazy verdict, I wish times like this the judge could over throw the jury

I understand your frustration. I really do. I don't blame the state. They could only present what they had. The fact that it did not convince the jury is just a fact. It did not convince them that Casey was responsible for murder. Do they believe in their hearts that she had something to do with it? Probably, but they must have had enough doubt to decide to go with a not guilty verdict.

The one thing that bothers me about most of the arguments I hear is that people always ask why Casey didn't respond like a normal person. My thought is because SHE ISN"T NORMAL. Is she a spoiled brat? Seems like it. But, her behavior is way beyond that of a spoiled person. I really don't think we will ever understand what goes on in her mind because her thought process isn't like that of most people.

I'm sorry that this is so upsetting to you and others. If it would make you feel better, I won't post any more. I know that my opinions go against the grain here. Please believe me. I am not happy how this whole thing turned out. I kept hoping that something concrete would be found to settle all the questions and that justice would be served. Sadly, that didn't happen.

I, personally, have no problem with your posts, Feral Peg. They are comparatively well-informed and compassionate, so please continue. Tempers (including mine) are rather frayed at the moment. We are venting a bit because this jury brings nullification to new heights.

I completely agree that Casey isn't NORMAL. She is (almost certainly) a sociopath. Enormously hard for families to deal with. Unfortunately sociopaths let loose in society are incredibly destructive. I wish the jury had done a more complete job. The verdict saddens me beyond belief.

What does it mean when you wink at someone in this instance? Flirting....not htis time , saying hi not this time .....everthing is okay ......YEP!

I love the quote from Nancy Grace, "Somewhere the devil is dancing tonight." I always says Casey looked like a demon or a gargoyle. Now I think we have our proof. :scared1:

I read about Baez ....Bikni salesman.....dead beat dad he is the new Superman fighting for "TRUTH JUSTICE AND THE AMERECAN WAY!"

I have a couple of questions

first, anyone know where Casey will go.....Home with JB?

Did anyone else hear she said she wants another baby?

Anyone hear Ashton on the View...did he say anything of merit

Juror 3 said that they were sick with the verdict...why didn't they speak to the media and say that

If they find out the jurors acted inappropriately can they retry Casey?

I have a question. How does one say " I think she's guilty but the prosecution didn't prove their case? Huh? Then why do you think she's guilty? Something convinced you, didn't it?.... Stupid!

They shouldn't have been considering the punishment, but they would be ultimately responsible for giving one out. Sounds like jury didn't want to have someone's life in their hands when, for whatever reasons, they were unclear on the actual crime.

Just wondering do you think the first thing Casey will do when she gets out is go to the dump spot aka Calee's temporary grave site and leave a teddy bear or some flowers like so many a grieving parent might do? ME thinks there is a wet tee shirt contest calling much more loudly. OH WAIT MAYBE if she wins the wet tee shirt contest she will pay homage to Caylee by leaving her winning tee shirt. Honestly, I just cannot wrap my mind around this woman. It makes me so sick that she is going to be a celeb and make a ton of money while her parents are probably going to lose their house. Truly she is evil incarnate...and I am not a religious person.

Some relative in Houston, TX is allegedly taking her in.

Did anyone else hear she said she wants another baby?
Yeah - Baez's! Just kidding. There were rumors she was already pregnant but I doubt that.

Juror 3 said that they were sick with the verdict...why didn't they speak to the media and say that
They figured there was more money in doing individual interviews? I mean, some have been offered 5 figures for interviews, according to some talking head on the HLN Tony Politan show. :confused3

If they find out the jurors acted inappropriately can they retry Casey?
The guy on HLN just said that if a juror said something flip like "Oh yeah I always thought she was guilty" during an interview, it could give motion for a new trial/retrial. I don't know if that's 100% accurate, though.

Judge Alex just nailed it. Im going to try and transcribe it!
