Roy Kronk, the man who discovered Caylee Anthony's remains, has sued bounty hunter Leonard Padilla in a defamation claim filed Friday afternoon in Orange Circuit Court.

The defamation complaint filed by Kronk attorney Howard Marks seeks more than $15,000 in damages.

"Over the course of two years, defendant Padilla published false and defamatory statements about plaintiff Kronk," the lawsuit states.
It says the false statements were broadcast or published, posted on the Internet and through Twitter. It says the statements were made on national television shows, such as Nancy Grace and Dr. Drew.

The false statements include claims that Kronk conspired with law enforcement, which ended with his finding Caylee's remains; that Kronk conspired with Casey Anthony, which ended with his finding the child's remains; that law enforcement told Kronk where the remains were; and that law enforcement told Kronk's girlfriend where the remains were.

Other false statements noted in the complaint:

• Kronk was somehow involved in Caylee Anthony's killing.

• Kronk "secreted the body or hid the body."

• Kronk is connected with Casey Anthony and the Anthony family and "is involved in the killing or cover-up of the crime."

• Kronk is a suspect, should be investigated, has something to hide and cannot be trusted.

• Kronk did not see any remains in August 2008.

• Kronk was not working and doing his job on the date the child's remains were found.

"In order to bolster his false and defamatory statements, defendant Padilla contacted relatives or former acquaintances of plaintiff Kronk to assist defendant Padilla in the character assassination of plaintiff Kronk," the complaint says.

The two-count complaint alleges defamation on its face and defamation through innuendo.

It alleges that Padilla's statements were "done with malice" and attempted to injure Kronk's reputation.

Padilla, whose website lists him as "World Famous Bounty Hunter & Godfather of Bail," had not seen the lawsuit late Friday.

"Truth is a defense to any defamation suit filed," Padilla said in a brief phone call Friday afternoon. "In my experience and knowledge of Roy Kronk, he's a [expletive] liar. I will give them time to add that into their lawsuit."

Padilla added that if Kronk and his attorney are willing to pay round-trip airfare, he will come to Orlando to be served with the legal paperwork directly.

Im sure that will be the reason they use but truthfully, she already did the time. To me, this is just a tactic to delay the deposition and to ward off the State of Florida's attempt to recover costs of investigations.

I heard it was so she didn't have to answer any questions at the deposition because it would interfere with her current case she is appealing. Heard that before the appeal news actually came out.

Okay now Roy Kronk. Roy found the body, granted he should of never started talking about being rich. But I would like an explanation from Baez how he made claims that Roy knew the Anthonys and how he would of gotten involved with them. Everyone is suing someone. Some are very legit. I wonder if Morgan can file for a new judge to over ride this. I am sorry but Casey is the one who started all this and she must answer for this. And putting a protective order over her is wrong. Did the DT really think that she wasnt going to recieve threats? This is a civil suit and I think the judge is clearly in the wrong.

Haven't read the thread since last night, but wanted to check in and say thanks for the well wishes!

I'm home and doing well. thanks to my Dr giving me "stay pain free" meds.

i just now got a text from Orlando Sentinal saying Roy Kronk is sueing Leonard Padilla,

ok, enough 1 hand typing for now! typing lefty is veryb tirering and a pain in the u know what!

Got home about an hour ago and just finished reading all these pages LOL what a mess

KC is granted her rights to thumb her nose at the system. now she's too tired??? hummm - must be exhausting being in jail doing... .what ????? oh ya - planning her "beautiful life"



Nicole is doing well. we met with the dr's yesterday and she told me that while she still needs to be on teh CPAP her lungs are getting better day by day. that they are still immature but they do see a huge difference in the xrays they've been doing.

the goals for the next 2 weeks (good god i hope it's not longer) are to go down for the 12, 3 and 9pm feeding and have her off the machine and only on the low flow which is basically having O2 there in front of her but not pushing it down her lungs.

if i can't make the 9pm feeding then they will give her a bottle and have her off the CPAP for that then the rest of the feeds through the nose tube.

she was awake and very allert for the 12pm feed and we actually put her back in her crib while she was awake

she did feed at 3pm but not as long and mostly asleep

they said that sometime late next week we're to bring a car seat down so she can be sitting up for some time and having some awake time in the seat with us playing with her.

it's going to be hard but i'll be down there from around 11 - 4 with her after i drop Cassie off at camp then head home (which takes about 1.5 hours in rush hour or should i say dead stop hour) then head back down agian for 9pm to feed again when Patrick can go down that's a lot of travel time.

hopefully it won't be much longer then 2 weeks

If she is so "unstable", I don't see her doing any interviews other than written ones. And wasn't she competent just a few weeks ago?

Personally I think she is as nuts as they come and her 3 years in jail only made her nuttier and further removed from reality. I will be surprised if she can function on her own on the outside.

The only way I see Casey doing a tv interview is if the questions are pre approved in advance so that she knows what's coming and can prepare for them. Baez or whoever is representing her are not going to let her get ambushed with tough questions.

I agree with you that this whole situation has only made Casey worse. She has to be laughing at how she fooled those jurors. I think theres an outside chance that she's so bold to try and actually stay in Orlando and run around to all her old stomping grounds.

Deposition for Oct 8.. She will be long gone by then

Where could she go to avoid the lawsuit, a country with no extradition to the U.S.?

It's a hot mess if you ask me... but she so exhausted and mentally fragile... aww, poor thing, wait til she gets out....

Good to hear about Nicole, but two more weeks, with the drive, I know how much driving that is, very difficult, but keep up the good fight and your little baby will be home soon... I wish it was sooner for you, but best to be on the cautious side, it's a struggle for sure..... You're still in our thoughts, you know Nicole will be celebrating her first birthday before any of these civil suits go to court!!!!
