Casey Anthony Civil Trials Discussion

Just watched JVM...great to see JA. :) Interesting interview.

Casey Anthony: Jeff Ashton book could become Lifetime movie

Could author Jeff Ashton have inspired a Casey Anthony movie?

Perhaps. Fox Television Studios has optioned the rights to Ashton’s “Imperfect Justice: Prosecuting Casey Anthony.”

“If there is a movie, it will be at Lifetime,” said Fox spokeswoman Leslie Oren. “It’s only in development.”

No movie is guaranteed, but getting the rights is a first step. Oren said the studio also wanted to announce optioning the rights as Ashton promotes his book, which went on sale today.

Lifetime also stressed that the movie is just in development.

But the names attached to the project suggest that “Imperfect Justice” has a good shot at making it to film. The script will be written by Emmy winner Alison Cross (“Roe vs. Wade”). She will be an executive producer with Jean Abounader, who has made many TV movies, and Michelle Manning (“16 Candles”).

Of course they are dear! It couldn't possibly be you. There are witnesses who will testify that you have always been wonderful at putting books in the cart, and you have never been seen putting books in the wish list. I heard you've had a very special relationship with the cart. And everyone puts their books in the cart differently. ::yes::Depends on the state, if I recall correctly. Or somethin' like that. :)

Damn straight! ;)

This is great! Casey has to be beyond pissed right now. :lmao:

I just watched the Today Show interview with Jeff and Matt asked him if he could have only asked Casey one question, what would it have been. He said he would have asked her to explain the purpose and meaning behind the Bella Vita tattoo.

He also said that Casey was offered two plea deals. One was a 2nd degree murder charge with a 30 year sentence and the other was one of the lesser charges of abuse IF she told the truth about what happened to Caylee. If they felt the truth was believable and proved to be a true accident, she could get a very reduced sentence. Cheney Mason thought she should consider the plea but each time he approached her with it, she would start at him blankly, refuse to answer, and act like she didn't understand. That is why CM wanted the emergency psych evaluation done.

And what I find especially interesting is that it was Cheney Mason who approached Linda Drane Burdick about a plea deal. The defense team must have had some serious doubts that Casey would EVER be found not guilty. Which is funny how then after the verdict they kind of acted like "of course 'not guilty'!"

Casey won't be happy about that. She may have her people call it unauthorized.

I would watch *that* version of the story.

It's 12.99 for the Nook version..I can't decide if I want a hard copy or if I'm OK with the electronic format. Decisions, decisions.

I got a hard copy simply because my non-reading DD will actually read that book. She doen't read much but when she does it is non-fiction, true crime, stories of survival, etc. And it's a book that I'm sure others might want to borrow as well. And it has pictures in it so those are better in print than in an ereader.

Phil said they would discuss her psychological evaluation results---"for the first time".

Did they not or did they just discuss she was competent?

No. Nothing was said about her competency. The only new thing is that one of the doctors said she told them that George killed Caylee. Of course, she only said it to him and it was never brought out by the defense. That was the only new thing I heard during the entire show.

I just watched Dr Phil. Thought it was a great show. It was nice to experience that "she's guilty!" camaraderie again. :)

Mark Garegos is an ***. Rude rude rude. He'd be a perfect co-host on The View; he could scream his opinion over everyone else with the rest of them. If one can't present an argument without screaming over other people, interrupting, and not letting the other person talk, then maybe one doesn't have an argument that will stand up to another's.

Marcia Clark looked great. Work? :confused3

The woman in the audience who would let Casey babysit for her kids was an attention ***** and nothing else. I believe she was 100% out to just be on TV. Dr Phil called her out on her statement that she believed Casey didn't kill her daughter, but had more to do with it than the defense said. ?? (Forgot her exact words.) And then she backpedaled. And when she said that she thought Casey died "on her own", Jeff Ashton's reaction was priceless..."she died where? ON HER OWN??" in the way only Jeff Ashton can. :) If only Dr Phil Show could have said to that woman..."Your kids are now on the way to be babysat by Casey...she DOES need a job!"

The one thing that made me cringe on that show was seeing Jennifer Ford again. My goodness, I can't stand the sight of her or hearing her speak. Once again I am reminded that the jury wouldn't convict without a video or DNA...no ability to put together puzzle pieces. Please God, don't let me have any medical emergencies near where she's working as a nurse.

I missed the Today Show today (cuz my darn dog needed to go out at 1:30 this morning and then got skunked and kept me up most of the rest of the night, but I digress.

What a coincidence! My daughter and her husband were awakened at 3 yesterday morning after a skunk got under their house and sprayed. They had to put the cats in the laundry room and open all the windows.

I strongly suspect that you did in fact put it in your cart, but Roy Kronk took it from your cart and returned it to your wish list. ::yes:: And I've got lawyers willing to back that up!

Someone (cough *Cindy* cough) googled "How to remove a book from the Amazon cart" and hit that site over 80 times. But, she only hit that because she wanted to know how to put Jose's book on her wish list and that came up as a pop up ...

I hear they have experts ready to testify that a book on a wish list is like putting a pig in a blanket into a car trunk on a hot summer day ...

you guys are cracking me up. :lmao:

:thumbsup2 :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl::laughing:

That's what I was going to say. They didn't think she had a chance in this world of being found not guilty. It never dawned on them that the jury could be that far from reality. :sad2:

For Mr. Mason for wanting a deal, that says it all. He knew all along she was guilty. I love Jeff Ashtons comments. I always had crack up.

This has been a nightmare! When he got sprayed at 1:30 AM, I left him on the porch overnight, and then all day until DH got home from work and de-skunked him. I washed the porch floor with de-skunker, and at first we thought it helped, but it's still pretty brutal. We kept the dog in the garage after de-skunking him, but then DH let him back in the house, with the door open to the porch, and the dog went out and laid out there, so we think he got skunk smell on him again. It's so hard to tell where it's coming from! I keep trying to smell him all over LOL, but he gets all excited because he thinks I'm trying to get affectionate with him. I'm going to do the floor again, but we have a lot of stuff on the porch...some in cardboard boxes (our shed collapsed in the snow last year, and we just had another one built but haven't moved stuff in yet)...and I think the cardboard absorbed the smell. :confused3 I have him in the house now, but am trying to confine him to his rug in the kitchen. Oy! He and I are NOT happy.

I'd give Casey a job de-skunking my dog and porch!

You need an unbiased nose (as opposed to a BAEZ nose. ;) Just keeping it on topic.) You will continue to smell it for awhile and it will be hard to pinpoint where it is or if the smell is gone and you are just imagining it. Have a neighbor, friend, or family member come over and tell them you want them to be honest about the odor. When you are in the house with that smell most of the day, it plays tricks on you. Good luck!
