Caryn and Mark PJ- SBP/LSS/PI >>>>>>AND WE'RE OFF<<<<<<

I went through your thread and I couldn't find any mention of a necklace. But in the Dress Your Wedding pic from DB website, it looks like you plan on wearing pearls. If that's true, maybe you could wear light pink pearls. And then you could dye your slip light pink. Or if you already have your pearls (in white or cream), maybe you could wear earrings with a hint of pink. I am picturing light pink under your light gold gown and it seems like it would be lovely (and quite princessy). You wouldn't even have to add light pink anywhere else in your wedding. I think it would be neat if it was only you wearing it and it was very subtle.

Congrats on finding a solution for your dress. You must feel a lot better now.

i am going to wear pearl earrings and a cameo necklace...i have been fighting my inner urge to dye the crinoline pink...i really love pink, it's my signature color and i think that i'm going to just do it and see how it turns out...princess:

I think that dying it a light pink would be fabulous! I also feel the dress would look nice with the hint of pink under its light gold and coordinate with the cameo:mickeybar

Also I would like to say thanks for your excellent PJ I have caught up on all you have planned so far, GREAT IDEAS! I am NOT a Disney Bride...Not YET any way

Ps LOVE LOVE LOVE those Mickey Bubbles...SOoooo GREAT!

Hey C .. I think we make a really nice bridal party! Im likin the looks of it. Did you hear that Lindsays cat has fleas? That poor baby shes prob so itchy :sad2:. So your coming home for christmas? Ill be working but thats ok!!!! Im glad you figured out the dress situation. Now stick that in the bank and move onto another fabu planning extravaganza. I really like the names of the tables. Daddy will like the roach table (he tells everyone that story). I was telling the girls at work all about your wedding last night and they all want to come. One girl has been to a wedding at the living seas and she said it was fantastic. Ok im going now I must sleep. happy planning and Happy 3 months (almost here) .. OH and I must chime in on the name thing. What if you did what mommy did and make your maiden name your middle name? Im pretty sure thats what Ill do. Then I agree with lindsay .. if you have a boy you can name him our last name. Im not really thrilled about having a nephew named Vinny or whatever you wanted to name him. Isnt FBIL's last name dutch? That would be like naming him Rocco or Furio. Just doesnt fit!!!!! But hey, your kid, im just the aunt that will spoil them rotten.

does that girl have pictures???

Caryn,
I'll chime in on the pink! I LOVE  it. It's what color I'm dying my crinoline. Just a hint of baby pink.

I'm enjoying the PJ, keep up the good work. Happy 3 months!:wizard:

I think I'm gonna do the pink dye too!! My bm's dresses have a rose pink sash, and pink is my signature color as well so I really want to do it!

Caryn, reading your PJ makes me want to dye my crinoline and buy a hoop skirt! Does the one hoop at the bottom really make a difference? I have a super full crinoline that could be a little bigger, but I dont want to go too crazy.

yes, it keeps all the material off your legs and lets you breathe!!! i think it's much better, you have to practice walking in the hoop though...it's kind of tricky, especially going up stairs!

i feel like all i do is wedding stuff, df today said it's my new full time job! less than three months to go now!!! i have started addressing my outer envelopes on the computer, which is much easier for me to do than sending them out. i'm hoping to have them in the mail by the 2nd week in nov. still debating on whether or not to buy personalized stamps...

here are pics of my jewelry! i'm thinking of wearing the earrings below in my second hole, they were given to me by my godmother (hi aunt judi!!!) on my 1st holy communion 20 years ago (wow, that makes me feel old...) the cameo is my late grandfathers, given to me by my grandmother, it's beautiful, though i need to get a shorter chain. i'm going to wear the hanging pearl earrings in my first hole...

here is the blue ring that my grandmother gave me, i'm to give it to the next one of her grandchildren (my cousins or sisters) who gets married. the shot below also shows my mothers graduation ring, given to me by my grandmother (who had to steal it back from my mother :)) on my high school graduation, it was given to her by her father, my great-grandfather.

Hey C ... can i sit at the borg table???? I want to be Lecutus!!! I like the shirts .. not really feelin the bows but im sure ill make that look good. I really like the hair style C it will look nice with your veil. Its also simple yet elegant enough for the wedding. I was watching the godfather today and I think that im going to ask daddy for a new car on your wedding day. That old idea that the brides father cant refuse a request on his daughters wedding day!!!! Linds you should ask for somthing nice too. :cool1: I told daddy taht if little rick comes he should go out and patrol the cars outside and beat up the photographers from the press .. he just laughed.

I like your wedding party shirts. Are you planning to have everyone wear them out to PI after your wedding?

Ok first of all I looove the jewlery it is so elegant an beuatiful!

I love the haristyle as well but my advice is have atrial near you to make sure. What i thought was the hairstyle i wanted (an updo) wound up not looking so great on me! Luckily I had a trial and time to tweak it! That's just my little advice...but the style is unique and classy.

Caryn and I have been thinking about welcome bags some more. I have told her to put in bandaids, tylenol and little bottles of purell. I also suggested McDonald's dollars, but we aren't sure if they can be used at the McDonald's locations in the parks... so we'll have to find out about that. Caryn, I got your itinerary and that's fine. I think I might actually come on Tues night after work, I will let you know.
Cordelia (my cat) and I can't wait to see you in January.

I finally decided to dye my crinoline...well, i decided to dye A crinoline, we'll call this a simu-dye...since it was my first try, this isn't one of the slips that i plan on wearing...so it's my simu-dye...

I'll document the process as best I can, I took several pictures...so bear with me...it turned out very well, I have no complaints, though there is a change to be made, you'll see at the end-and of course, i need opinions (what else is new ;))! So here we go...

to start, i filled my washer with hot hot water, then i put on gloves...BEFORE i put the dye in the wash bin, i dunked the crinoline into the water, since i didn't have anywhere else for the wet crinoline to go, i put a towel under a laundry basket so that water wouldn't get all over and i put the wet crinoline in the basket...
here is my set up...
100_0250.jpg

i then added the dye (RIT liquid dye, Rose Pink) to the wash bin and set it to agitate, i then added the crinoline to the dye and dunked it in as much as i could (this is where wearing gloves comes in really handy, because that water was HOT)
here's the crinoline right before i shut the washer lid to let it agitate
100_0249.jpg

i then kept setting the washer to agitate, i let it go for about 15 minutes, then I took it out, unraveled it the best that i could (it was heavy...) then i put it back in for another 15 minutes.

here it is mid-cycle-wow, that's pink...not exactly the color we're going for, but more on that later...
100_0251.jpg

then, after it was done agitating, i let it rinse twice, the 2nd time, i added just a bit of detergent, rinsed it again, let the water drain and i took it out...here is right before i took it out of the washer...
100_0252.jpg

then i hung it up in my bathroom the best i could...it was REALLY tangled within itself and i had to have DF help me...
100_0253.jpg

it turned out pretty well. i think the color on the bottle very accurately describes the color that the crinoline turned out to be. i was surprised by that actually...now here comes my problem, it's too pink...it's too bubble gum bright. if my dress were white, then it would be fine, but it's not...so i'm glad that i did a simu-dye...

here's my dress wrap that shows the color of my dress as compared to the simu-crinoline...
100_0256.jpg

DF and I then went for margaritas and he decided that the crinoline is too pink and he hates it (he does however LOVE the color of my dress :thumbsup2 ), so we decided that it needed to be a shade of brown so as not to compete with the color of my dress...being as prepared as i always i am, i have 3 browns for him to choose from-tan, cocoa brown and dark brown. here are the three of them on the dress color...
100_0257.jpg

SO WHICH BROWN???

i'm thinking tan...here's a pic of tan tulle on the dress color, i think it looks good...
100_0258.jpg

i still have my hoop skirt and actual crinoline to dye...WHAT DO WE THINK?

Not to change the subject (crinoline color is super important after all) but we just found out that we ARE going to have a honeymoon (well, we'll have our poly-moon for a few days after the wedding), we are going on a St. Patrick's Day cruise to Belize!!! DF has to DJ on it for some charity! He then has to go to Miami for World Music Conference right after that, sooooo...2 months after our wedding we'll be gone on a cruise and to Miami for 2 weeks! I'm so excited I could SCREAM!!!

Now, crinoline color opinions PLEASE!!!

I love the pink! but I get what your are saying about the colour not going with your dress. I personally think the tan is too close to the dress color to really stand out... I am assuming thats what you wanted since you are dying it. I would do the chocolate brown. Maybe test all three? I don't know how many extra you have to play with.

My vote is for the cocoa brown... the tan might be too close and the dark brown might be too dark :)

Eee that's awesome about your honeymoon! You must be sooo excited! :goodvibes
