Does anyone know if you can pack snack/breakfast bars? was wondering if they have to be 3oz or under too. Thanks for any info...:goodvibes

Yes you can carry on food :) We do it all the time.

You can also carry on liquids but you have to purchase them in the airport PAST the security booths. Once you are past security you can carry on whatever you want.

We often pack a lunch from home and carry that on or buy something in the food court of the airport and I usually always buy a bottle of water before getting on the plane.

Just be careful if you were thinking of packing peanut butter items, or nuts..I've been on flights where we were told someone had a nut allergy, and we could not eat them (of course I had packed nuts)

Oh thank you for answering...a few years ago we were traveling with DGK and they took the applesauce containers...you know the cups that come in a sleeve of 3....
My DS could just pack them in suitcase/carryon to bring down for breakfast...just didn't want him to buy them and then have them thrown out. thank you

Apple sauce is considred liquid and will not be allowed past security. A rule of thumb is that if the item will not hold it's shape when removed from it's container, it falls under the 3-1-1 rule. Applesauce would not hold its shape so would be thrown away by TSA.
